Do y'all have any idea what it's like to be driving home at midnight and to hear a sudden thump thump thump thump thump thump thump as you're doing 70 on the highway. And you're still like 6 miles from your house. No codes no lights no flat tires but every time you speed up thumb thumb thumb thumb thumb. It's about enough to give you a f****** heart attack

    Well here's the fucking culprit

That reminds me, at first I brought my torque wrench with me and asked them if they could put them on and I'd torque them down myself vs them impacting them on. Thats when he said they would torque them by hand, because he couldnt allow me to do it. I still re torqued them myself when I got home just to make sure lol

So the actual kids that do the work at the Converse location discount tire are legit and they're super helpful and they're super friendly and they will absolutely use a torque wrench for you if you so request. It's their f****** day shift manager who is an absolute c***. He's one of those dudes that probably got picked on his whole life finally became the manager so has a miniscule amount of responsibility not power but can't tell the difference so he's constantly on a power trip and talks like s*** to customers. Last time I was there he threatened to have my vehicle towed for making a joke. That's not an exaggeration that's not me making some stuff up it's not me taking something out of context, he was so serious that it warranted a call to me from corporate after the review I left of that location and him. Don't know if he works there don't care we'll never go back

My tire shop torques by hand. Told them to first time I stopped by now they do it each time. It's noted so on all my receipts.

On a warehouse job earlier in my life, my manager told me to park in the back of the building away from where customers could see my car because it was in mid-repair where I was waiting for a front fender to come in from GM which was on backlog.

    What an arsehole!

Hey all! Anyone swap oil filters without draining before? 2005 4.7, I want to know how much oil I will lose. Just a bit, or all of it?

doing and engine flush with liquid Molly and then a rinse with cheap oil afterwards. I’m thinking engine flushes are probably not actually good for the engine, but I bought it already and I want to feel warm and fuzzy when I drain all that black oil out of it.

I have not. I imagine a decent bit of oil will come out, or you will get messy trying to do it really quickly. Might be worth the whole drain/fill and filter.
I am about to do the same thing but will just be adding liquid Molly to the current oil and filter.

Attach a shop vac to your fill spout, no oil will come out aside from what's in the filter, which is about a quarter quart, aka 8 ounces.

Liquimoly, Seafoam, and BG all make solid flush products. They're not gimmicky, they serve a purpose. Just be ready to look for leaks afterwards, in case they break something loose that was keeping oil inside the engine. Like valve covers.

Yep, mudflaps. Both my rears were starting to tear.

I've worked and used to house sit a lot in a very rural agricultural (ranching) valley here in Montana. 60 miles to the next paved road once you hit dirt. Mostly large ranches, but also a National Wildlife Refuge, whose headquarters is the closest thing to being a "town" in the entire valley. Because of that, everyone's got a large, elevated gas tank, and the gas company comes through and fills them now and then. Etc. Self sufficient population. The refuge has the equipment to mount tires (I'm not even sure what it's called...). I was really surprised, watching a friend change a tire. I really always thought there was some type of sealant, but it's just the bead seated in the rim holding all that pressure...I had no idea.

Anyway that's one way to go, though I guess you still need to balance them.

Smart! Thank you. I just want to throw a larger clean filter on to prevent any chunks from clogging the old one, and also I’m adding 16oz so it will replace that amount.

Sign it. From 20ft away someones gonna see a 1/2"x2" signature from a certain angle & think its special. Hell, sign it yourself. Sign it on the sunny side & you can change your name every couple months.

    Yeah, it's a thought. :)
I also picked up a really nice TRD cap at the dealership that pinstriped it. The TRD emblem is actually rubber. I've had my 4Runner for 12 years and never noticed they had a complete selection before. Gotta get new glasses. :monocle:
