I have a 2000 Toyota tundra v8 that has 240k miles on it. I've had it for 6 years with no incidents. All of the sudden, it is starting to have a rough idle and then the engine turns off, but only after it gets warm and up to temp.

So far, I have: replaced the spark plugs, coils, cam position sensor, throttle position sensor, cleaned the throttle body, and used Seafoam in the fuel tank.
The most change occurred with the new throttle position sensor being replaced. I drove it around the neighborhood, then on the freeway, and then literally as I was pulling into the driveway, it died and I was defeated.

I guess my next step is fuel pump/ filter and if that doesn't work I'll just leave it in gear on the boat ramp and let the saltwater have it!

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

First check for codes with an OBD reader. Possible it could be a bad ignition coil.

    If no codes, read on.

I had this same issue with my 2000. It was a combination of bad alternator and corroded/loose wires in the battery terminal. OBD will not show this.

Get your battery/alternator tested. Also check for loose/corroded wire connections on the battery.

Also check spray down the mass air flow sensor with MAFS cleaner and check for debris. Make sure air filter is good.

Coils and battery are good. It has no problem cranking up and running when cold, which is what makes me question whether it is electrical related.

I think it may be a clogged catalytic converter...

Mine would do the same thing and randomly shut down, completely dead even while driving. One time it did that and it was a dirty MAF sensor. Other time it was a loose/corroded battery terminal connection.

Are you getting a check engine light when it dies?

No check engine light and no codes when I plug in OBD2 scanner
