I am feeling like I just spent 10 days doing nothing but hanging out with family and driving around....

Woke up this morning and took the propane tank up to the local place so they can get it refresh and ready to use.

Then I climbed up on the roof and sprayed down the mold/mildew. Then.... The real fun. Scrubbed the patio roof in prep for it's coating. Which I couldn't apply because it didn't dry in time.... And now it's going to rain, go figure....

Finally called the quits and remembered to take a picture of the yard. So this is through my screen, but you can see the clearing my neighbor did for me while I was gone. When I caught up with him today, he told me he just wants to get it ready for my son to play in.

I said, bud, he ain't even born yet. Trying to hide my emotions. Then he said, by the time I get this cleared for you, the ground prepped and the grass growing back, he will be walking around.

Yeah, I'll admit it... Emotions hit.

Damn I am a lucky man.

    Sean,

Yes, it’s actually granite stones and after you spread it out and let it cure you apply the sealer. It’s milky white and dries clear. Clean up is with a deck brush and a citrus cleaner and hose off. I spilled some grease on it from the grill and it came right up.

Hose it, no pressure washer needed. They recommend applying the sealer every couple of years for residential use and once a year for commercial use.

If you decide to do the Spread Rock definitely ask a buddy to help. I did it myself and it was a little bit of a challenge to blend with misting it while prepping another bucket. Yes prep is key! I pressured washed the patio with a 3000 psi washer, I acid etched it and you have a prime paint that acts as a gripper for the stone spread. It leaves behind a grit/sandy feel surface. You have to use Spread Rock components including the sealer.
For the stairs my friend through them together years ago when I finished my basement so I kept the 2x6’s. I’ll be painting them in the near future. Just want the boards to dry out a bit more.

    I hate roofs....

coat 1/3. Used today to see how this product lays since it is new to me. Got good coverage in one area and terrible coverages in others. I will most likely be using a squeegee for the next two. We will see.

Maybe look into the RV style coating. I believe it's self leveling.

Very similar stuff was used. It will self level but the miss/trick is to lay it thick. This was 5 gallons and the recommendation is 14. But it's all they had in stock and I had to plug the leak. The next couple buckets will level everything and go easier.

That is a crazy amount of what appears to be pure sand,I have never seen that amount EVER from a city fed unit.
If one doesn't flush out once a year (family of 4)
and pending on water quality ,minerals and H2O hardness I wouldn't bother.Keep in mind a non Tankless unit.
The amount that gets calcified along with sediment is almost impossible to break up with a descaling solution in combination with a transfer pump,if you pull the anode and have the head room one can use a rod to manually break up the sediment on the bottom but also run the risk of breaking off the ceramic coating that lines the vessel.

Bottom line is it is always great practice to flush yearly if not that sediment "brick" kills the efficiency, the thicker the sediment gets each year or so ,so to speak, it will act like heat barrier/insulation which makes the burner stay on longer to heat the water that will satisfy the thermostat.

On a residential Tankless unit w/family of four this will inherent a 5% efficiency loss after one year of operation and falls into double digits shortly after.
So a 94% after one year of normal use is now 89% and drops considerably unless a annually descaling is preformed, this procedure is very simple, time wise 15 minutes give/take if the proper Bib cocks were installed on the manifold of installation.

Thank you! And will do! It was miserable up there even for the short time I was up there. When I had the cooler day and prepped it, the sky opened up shortly before i was going to apply the stuff. So as bad as it was, I couldnt miss the opportunity.

100% I have liked some neighbors before, but these guys are top notch. I would be even more in debt if it wasnt for them and they make it so much fun. His only ask has been very clear, when he can no longer, take his equipment and return the favor.

Today is starting off with some excitement. Looks like I have a sale confirmed on my old rims/tires. Not as much as I had hoped but more than I figured I could get. Picked up my trailer with the now functional propane tank in it. I will be planning on where to install that next week.

Camper is fired up and cooling down. Getting ready to take a trip down to my favorite park for the weekend. Thankfully, other than chorin, it looks like there will be no projects around the home today. And yes, I am taking my sweet *** time with that front deck issue.

Rails are up and gate is installed. Still has siding to go on at the base, a gutter downspout to put back on (will have to cut a hole to pass through the deck), and electrical for lighting and outlets.

When it gets really bad it will start popping and crackling loud during a heat cycle. ask me how I know :anonymous::rofl:
I think a big part of my issue was all the galv plumbing. And a few areas with copper mixed in.
Ripped all that out and went full copper. Prob one of the more fun projects I did, designing and starting from scratch. (Thanks full unfinished basement!)
