Random beeping becoming an annoyance.

I'm currently getting random beeps, and it's pretty damn annoying. I'll get 7 randomly spaced single beeps over a 20 min car ride and then nothing for the next 4 days. Sometimes the beeps are every few seconds and other times there's multiple minutes in between. There's no noticeable change between time of day, weather, how close I'm following the car in front, etc. It'll happen when I'm doing 60 on the highway or 28 on a deserted back road.

I did search the site prior to posting and did see some experience beeping without any dash warning lights, as is my case, attributing it to the front bumper sensors after a replacement or aftermarket add on. My bumper is fine. I haven't done anything to it, have not replaced it, have not hit anything and there are no scratches implying someone may have tapped and run when I was parked.

But if it is a front bumper sensor issue, that could make sense as no lights illuminate during the beeps and all my dash levels are at correct spots/temps, etc.

I did take it to the dealer 2 weeks ago, but they were no help as nothing was reading bad and the best they could offer would be for a tech to take it for a ride to simulate it into happening. Because it's truly random and nothing pops up to notify, I wasn't sure what that would even accomplish other than me not having my truck all day.

Any thoughts.

No matter how silly it sounds, check if your left knee/leg is not hitting the seat memory recall button on the driver's door. It happened to me—random beeps out of the blue.

Once I found the cause, I 3D-printed a flip cover to prevent touching the buttons.

 

Even though it's not throwing a "Brake" warning when it beeps, you could try just turning off the pre-collision system while you are driving and see if anything changes. That might help in determining if it's the front sensors or not.

 

This kinda thing reminds me of the remote controlled fart boxes. We hid one under a copier at work years ago. Watching people walk by and then setting it off was hilarious. Even the copier service company was called out to try and figure out where the weird noise was coming from.

 

I believe you have a setting that alerts you when you are a certain amount over the speed limit enabled. Can't remember exactly what's it's called, but I remember the same thing when I first got my Tundra. It's in the menu settings on the cluster. You can set it to vibrate, give an audible beep, or display it as a red line around the little speed limit sign on the dash. You have the option to have it alert you when going 1-5 miles over the posted speed limit. It is under the RSA menu I believe.

Go to that menu, hold it for a few seconds and it will give you options to get an audible beep, a vibration, or no notification

 

If you have the OEM dash camera it will beep (and start recording) whenever the truck experiences a significant bump.

 

I'll be damned. This forum is awesome! I'm almost 99% positive this is the issue. At 6'4 & 255, I'm a large guy, so it's not noticeable to me while driving that my knees, elbows and shins are always resting against something as it's been that way in trucks since I was 18, lol.

Now that you've brought it to my forefront, yes, my left knee basically rests on this area and yes, when I push the buttons while in motion I get the beep!

There you go - it's blue because I already loaded midnight blue PETG into the printer. And as with many temporary fixes - it stayed like that. It could look fabulous in red to match TRD Pro accents (shifter and steering wheel).

 

This is as classic as several Zip ties strung together around the drive shaft, or a couple small stones inside of a hubcap.
