Blacked out Front emblem

Hello, does anyone know if the front emblem on a 2019 SR5 can be swapped out with an all black Toyota emblem? Right now I have that plastic looking thing that I can't stand

 

Scuff it, spray paint it.

 

That emblem is the sensor cover for the radar cruise and other safety systems. You can replace or cover it with anything that doesn't interfere with the sensor. You can probably vinyl wrap it pretty easily.

 

no, in 2018 that emblem became the cover to the TSS sensor, can't just change it out like on previous model years

You can do a vinyl over the chrome portion but it won't completely cover 100% of it due to the curvature of the emblem. This is what it looked like when I had that emblem installed on mine.

 

Agree. Vinyl is a better option.
Some paints including nonmetallic colors have metallics in them. Test before committing and potentially ruining a good cover.

 

Yep....not to mention that a replacement is over $300.

There is the 18 and up Pro grille that moves the sensor to the bottom. I have the 14-17 Pro grille on my 2020.

I covered my emblem with tinted vinyl on my 2018 and have not and any issues with the TSS in the 3 plus years it has been on it.

 

I like that look. Do you remember where you got your vinyl decal?
