Not sure what it is, but with this LED DRL light craze - I've come to really love and appreciate the amber DRLs in the factory headlights. Now that everything else has LED stips, halos, etc, the amber really stands out in a good way.

There a neat upgrade for them, brighter bulb maybe?

No love for the amber anymore...?

I have amber and LED both as my DRL. Upgraded the amber bulb which looks lot better than factory.

VLED makes white ones. With that being said, be aware of your state laws. Some require amber followed by red.

There is whole bunch of amber bulbs on Amazon and eBay that you can purchase. JDM and Sirius has some nice products.
Mine is a switchback from JDM.

VLEDs are super spendy though - the new V6 is $180 with all the frills to make it work... Are they really that good?

Lol no, I get super pumped up for them. Always have, but its increasing as more and more people move away to the led strips.

In my FJ I did the little mod to the side view mirrors to make the lights in them amber.

I got the chills yesterday when a newish MGM Tundra w/ a progrill and bright ambers drove by yesterday.

Looks good! Any chance you have a model number for a bulb of theirs that fits the gen 3 factory headlight? Doing some digging and lighting is pretty overwhelming.

    Haha I hear you.

When I did my retrofit I almost did the LED DRL strip, but my love for the amber shined brighter.

I'm using your retrofit how to at the moment and I too didn't want the DRL Strip. Given that they probably now come on a Honda Civic, they lost their appeal to me.

X2 - VLEDS are pricey but you really do get what you pay for in the LED dept. I have their V3 triton switchbacks and wouldn't buy anything else.

Let me know how the retro comes out. Good luck! Post some pics to the DIY thread and anything I missed, etc. if you can.

    Hopefully the DIY helps ya.

yup - to date, no need to take pictures as i've followed your steps the whole way - a great how-to guide - thank you!. Luckily I bought a spare set of lights so that I can take my sweet time - so far, biggest problem has been choosing what color to paint!
