I heard it’s fuckey and it’ll bounce around. I tried moving the Tesla to its own plan with just me, but in CO, state law won’t allow insurance to do so it ur married :(
My plan was to remove my 16yo driver off of it, but we can’t.
American Insurance via Costco came in cheaper, but they do n it offer glass insurance. We’ve already replaced the windshield on our teenagers car once, and now must do it again. It’s a $50 deductible. We did it on the wife’s Highlander 2x. Would have been $1400 each time if not

That’s who we have now. And the last 4 years the rate has only increased like $50 -60 more per renewal period. But out of the blue it just doubled. I might call them and say did yall mess up or what’s the deal. We are a one car family . Of all the cars I’ve owned over the last 3 years this MYP has been the most expensive by far. Hell the raptor and TRD pro was only $93 a month.

I just got my homeowners policy last month for $2500 for the year where everyone else was 3-4.5k. I’m sure next year that will shoot up with them.

    we pay
    $1k for homeowners. HO-A
$5k for windstorm 2% deduct - we are Tier 2 in Galveston county.

both of these #'s are up 50% in the past 3 yrs.

<The lake house is reasonable ($3k). no windstorm needed. it's up 25%.>

Cars - it's tough to say because of my 2 <25yr old drivers. however, we are up~100% - all things considered. clean driving records for all.

the '34 Ford is $200 a year - full coverage.

It's puzzling to me how the "normal" family afford all these costs.
    Electricity up >100% in TX.
    Food
    Gas
    Insurance
    Health ins

Disposable income has to be nil.
Credit card debt is slaying this generation.

Kids were in town...4 of us @ Shake Shack. $85 burger/fry/drink

    Something is about to pop.

I'll give it till around......say....Sept/Oct of this year.
that's about the time the Gov will step in and shatter ( free shit for low income folks) whatever economy we have left.

all these illegal immigrants need housing. Gov will step in.

as it related to EV's....if Electricity raises much more, it will not be more economical than Gas. or maybe that's the plan.

Electricity is also a utility that is super easy to shut off or throttle back from the top. Gasoline is not. Seems if there is a plan, more control is part of it.

But at this point, what a spectacular failure of assimilation EVs have been. The market in general is just not interested. Maybe when we stop pilfering the strategic oil reserves in an election year, gas prices will incentivize people to get an EV.

    this.

create a mandate and hand EV production to folks that, via sloppy, lazy unions, have only made ICEs, and the results speak for themselves.

the free market is a nasty, unforgiving bitch.

I ponder this one....why did the Ford Lighting fail?
it was the perfect execution of retrofitting Elec to an ICE pkg.
    except, it wasn't.

Wife has been having vertigo issues so went to go change pedal settings. Noticed it’s called Dynamics now and steering wheel isn’t comfort, sport, normal anymore. It’s light, standard, and heavy feel.

    weird change in terms

My understanding is when in conserve mode it is front wheel drive only & that is what causes excessive wear.

Rivian is the most decent EV truck out there. power, utility, etc.

I just think the public is not gonna accept those headlights.

If they were out when I bought my Model 3, I would’ve bought one.

It’ll be even better now that it’s on the Tesla charging network.

At this point, if I seriously wanted a MY, should I just buy the oldest one I can find? I mean, updates are OTA, right?

It would only be for commuting around town. We’d take the Tundra or 570 on road trips >100 mi.
