This was unforeseen. ARB compressor switch doesn’t fit in the Rainman panel I installed, I shoulda known. Anyway, does anyone know what size these are, and where to buy some? Looking for compressor and locker switches.

Thanks for the input, how are they wrong? Seems like it’s two separate switches in one?

The board layout is such that power is supplied to the backlighting through both the dash lighting circuit and the 12v switched supply (that powers the relay in your compressor (or whatever) circuit).

In a nutshell, the backlighting is on even when your other switches are unlit. This may not bug you but I found it annoying. What’s more, my compressor, relay and switch are on a house battery circuit so I needed the backlighting to be fully isolated, else the switch is lit 24x7 while allowing house power to bleed into the truck’s electrical.

There are some hacks online that discuss how to deal with this by cutting traces on the board inside the switch, but they didn’t work for me due to my less common use case.

Anyway, their standard on/off switches are great. Their double switches need some re-thinking (or more hacking than I’m willing to put into them).

That actually sounds like something I would like. Having the locker switch lit up ONLY when the air compressor circuit is closed means that I can't turn on lockers unless the air compressor is also turned on first. I think I'll get he dual locker switch anyway and try it out, I'll be wiring it into an ARB compressor/locker harness anyway.

Where did you mount your compressor? I have mostly seen them in the bed but I’m trying to avoid that.

Over time I’ve found that these push switches tend to get sticky making it hard to turn off.

I put mine behind the back seat, I didn’t want it getting too hot in the engine bay or getting rained on in the bed.

Is that from bad design or spilled drinks? If they’re built like factory switches it shouldn’t be an issue

I mounted mine in the engine bay to keep the noise, vibration and hoses and stuff out of the cab. I’m using the mount that wedges it behind the air cleaner housing - it’s pretty tight but it works for my needs.
