You would need a pretty large bed rack to still allow the diamondback to open. Or just lay the tent on the diamondback and never open it.

I got a RTT for sale in Texas if you don’t have one yet ;)

Buy or build a small trailer, maybe even a pickup bed trailer. Build or buy a rack and mount the tent. You will be able to keep it up at a site while you take off in the truck. Plus you can keep all your gear at the ready all the time and still use the truck for other things. Yeah, there are a few disadvantages too,. One could also look at being able to move the tent back between the two for varios reasons. Enjoy the smores!

I also have a trailer made from a Tundra frame for Tundra beds that I need to sell...

That is a good start for someone, Just not me, cuz I'm sitting here with six different trailers all with different purposes right now. Kinda crazy with tires and all, lol!

I’ve seen tall bed racks run on the diamondback (Yakima is one I remember seeing) so a RTT (I have a iKamper skycamp that’s I love) can sit on top and go over the cab.

What about something like this? Then just keep your undercover items in shallow tubs and use a stick with a hook to pull them out through the tailgate opening?

Can you still open the Diamondback? I thought the racks I've seen on them bolt to the lids.

I’ll have to go back and look at the one guy I remember and see if he could. I vaguely remember him retaining function somehow
