Does anyone know where this bracket goes?

Installing my sliders. Working on the driver side and there is this bolt on the outside of the frame near the gas tank. Demello thought it could be removed as he thought it held the e-brake cable but, it's holding a bracket that goes up and onto the top of the gas tank. Leave it and finagle the slider alignment? I tried removing it but then the whole bracket is wiggling around.

I had the same thing that interfered with my allpro sliders. I had to cut a part out of the sliders. Looks like you aren't going to be that lucky. The bolt and thing that went above the gas tank was a big bolt as well, like it secured something important.

That's the same spot. Hmm. I don't have an angle grinder. All I have is a Dremel and I doubt that will make it through this slider. I'm going to throw it on for now since the passenger side is already on. I've got to run out for a new drill bit anyway to put some holes in the frame. I'll grab an angle grinder at the same time and go to town.

Yep. Spoke to Demello. He said sometimes they fit and sometimes the Bushwackers need trimming. Trying to figure out the best way to trim.

@ColoradoTJ think I can chop off the top 1/2 to 3/4" of that gusset without having a problem?

Yes, that shouldn't be an issue with strength.

I’d chop it at a diagonal and weld a small plate to fill it.4D240D2F-164C-4E41-80DD-88CDB385E297.jpg

It isn't a problem. At least this would be your view while working on the Tundra.

We would need to go up the mountain pass to Cascade.

You can bring them down, and I can finish them up while you are out. That is one option, or if you want to be part of it (which I recommend), we can wait.

So, while I'm waiting for a ton of crap to download from Europe, I went and took another look at this. I've got to monkey with it a bit more but, we may not have to trim the end of the sliders. There seems to be enough play in the mounting holes on the side of the frame to slide the slider forward enough to clear. With that, I think we'll need to just weld the entire thing to the frame as the holes for the mounting tabs on the underside of the frame will no longer match up. I'd rather have it welded to the frame anyway.

I drilled to smaller pilot holes and then used a hack saw, went pretty quick, maybe 15-20 mins. I tried to do it clean and measure and drill just a single hole, it didn't work. The hack saw happened after I failed, heh.
