Ordered some parts from Serra Toyota for the 20% off sale

I was charged shipping after it said nationwide free shipping. Almost didn’t notice, I emailed them to see what happened. Wonder is it happen to anyone else.

 

The $94.42 is a combo of the $30.93 free shipping + $63.49 (20% discount). You’re just reading it incorrectly. The pricing is correct albeit a little confusing.

 

Math adds up to me when I plug it into a calculator. On your first screenshot, the line item of -$94.42 includes your shipping discount and your 20% off Memorial Day discount. On your second screen shot, they are listed as separate line items.

 

Yep, me last time.
They charged me like $40 shipping and told me I went over the $200 free shipping limit.
It would seem to be they source the parts from several warehouses, ship em to the dealer, repackage and ship to you.

 

Wait the more you buy the more they charge in shipping that seems a bit backasswards if you ask me

Also, if you wanted them to stay, I’d highly recommend replacing the metal washer with a large 1” plastic one so it doesn’t deform the plastic splash guard. There are 4 connection points each. Two on the bumper, two on the skid plate.

 

If would be if they had the parts ship to your house from the warehouse(s). But they ship to the dealership then box em into one package and ship to your house. So the shipping adds up fast

 

Noticed last night when refitting mine the knuckles, shocks, and even inner cv boots are exposed with the skid plat on. Maybe these can be added to an 03?

 

Hard to say since two of the attachment points were originally on the chrome bumper via a bracket. I don’t know if those points exist behind the plastic one on one of the reinforcement supports to either create or use. I just recently purchased two replacements since mine rusted apart just recently as shown below.

 

I think I’m going to replace outer tie rods and sway bar end links. Did steering rack bushings and lower ball joints and shocks. Hoping those final parts will tighten up the front end almost back to when it was new. Any one done all these how’d it work out?

 

Most here have done it. The shocks will help a lot; both front and back if they’re long overdue.

Check your LCA bushings as well.

It's the cross member that sits behind the bumpers impact bar. It mounts to the crumple zones on the front of the frame rails and allows you to bolt the skid plate to it. One of the previous owners stuffed the front end of my truck, and never replaced it. He also put an 05 06 SR5 front end on my truck, and fitted the wrong head lights to it. So now I have to also redo the front end back to an 00 Limited.

 

I would say I did. I have a lot of factors playing against me I think. I did the bushings and the shocks and haven’t gotten it aligned yet. I know I know blasphemy but the steering wheel is dead straight and tire wear seems ok. I was waiting to do the lbjs and possibly end links before alignement.

it did tighten up steering probably 50% but I used energy suspension poly bushings. I’ve read that they aren’t as tight as OEM rubber. If you’re going to do them, set some time aside and maybe take a Xanax because they are a bitch to change out. Took me about 6 hrs, two trips to Napa and two special tools made with all thread, big sockets and washers to make a press tool.

I haven’t picked mine up yet but the diagram indicates 4 total (in screws each) even though it’s only specified for the right hand side which only has two. My guess is it’s identical but they’ll tell you at the parts counter.

 

Ah of course. See the holes where the plate hangers fit into it. Interesting to see you prepping your skid plate. I had washed, pounded some dents, and removed some rust over the past few weekends to put on a little paint before remounting. Still has the original foam. Maybe finish it up next weekend.

 

Mine still has the OEM foam as well. I took it off for paint. I'll double sided tape it back on when I'm done painting it. And the dents can stay, adds character and class lol

 

The yellow box you'll hear about is the best thing you can do. It corrects the data going into the ECU, so your odometer and speedometer are recording and reading true. They're like $200 and I believe that's all they do. You can pay less for a Scangauge, and it will also read DTC's and show live data for 4 PID's, which you can change whenever you want, giving the ability to monitor stuff that you don't have gauges for and would need an OBD2 scanner to view otherwise. It'll also record gas fillups and a bunch of other stuff.
Just an FYI, the change in your speed/mileage, is corrected with a % value, but easily calibrated from your phone's GPS

 

@KTM_AJ421 thanks for the heads up on the bushings. Was planning the ES kit too. I had hoped they would tighten as much or more than stock, but either would be an improvement at this point. Recall needing to press the bushing. Have to re-watch a video. So you allthread through the bushing encased with washers/nuts on both sides to press it in?
