Has anyone had an experience with a repeating clunking noise that sounds like its coming from the front end passenger side? The clunking starts around 15-20 mph, occurs when going straight as well as turning, is pretty loud, and are uniformly spaced when maintaining the same speed. The frequency increases in tandem with the vehicle's speed. It seems to come and go. I noticed it months ago and immediately brought it into a shop; I was told by the mechanic it was a bad lower control arm. I brought it to a second mechanic who was unable to get the noise to start, but assured me my LCA's are perfectly fine. The noise has now come back and has not gone away in about a week. Any insight on what this could be would be much appreciated.

If any suspension work has been done, I would get the sway bar end links checked, if you don't know, have your end links checked anyway. Also check the front sway bar to ensure the bushings have not slid out of place.

I had this klunking noise for two years. Mostly while driving slow and turning, like maneuvering for a parking spot. I tried pinpointing the source with no luck. Even took it to Toyota Service. Even they couldnt figure it out blaming it on my meager 2.5 lift (Bilstein 6112s , 3rd setting). I recently took it to a local shop to get my 6112s swapped out as the old ones were leaking. They suggested an alignment as well. I went to pick up the truck and driving out of the parking lot I noticed to klunking noise was GONE. The service tech had told me my alignment was pretty far out. They did a great job aligning the front end, even better than Toyota service. Im not stating that everyone experiencing this annoying popping, klunking noise needs an alignment, just what worked in my case. But it is damn nice driving my truck with no popping sound. Hope this helps someone else.
