I’m installing some Matt gecko LED strips in the bed of my 3rd gen tundra. I installed everything per the instructions. Power is coming from a wire running all the way to the positive terminal on the battery. When I turn on the switch to the lights the lights come on but they are incredibly dim. I thought maybe it was a ground issue. So I moved my ground but the problem persists. Could this just be a loose crimp on a wire? Any help is appreciated.

lol not yet. I’m gonna check again when it’s dark out but they were so dim even during the day that they didn’t seem right. I’ll let ya know when it gets dark how they look. Currently they are almost not even visible even with my tonneau cover on.

Start the truck and they will brighten a little

Mine (Different kind) are very bright without truck running. Just as an FYI

Have you checked how many volts you have at the end of your + wire?

Are your LED strips already installed/adhered in the bed? If not, or if you have another 12V power supply, maybe connect power & ground directly to the strips and see if they're any brighter.

I have a little 12V bench power supply that's pretty handy for stuff like this.

I do not have any of these cool tools. And I can’t seem to find my multimeter. Gonna have to make a trip to the store.

    What color did you get?
The pure white would be the brightest.
Even during the day, you should see light if you have a bed cover.

    From his website..

Dim lights happens when the ground connection too the truck is bad, try to find a new grounding point.

mine is red and not even close to being this bright. With my tonneau closed during the day I can’t even tell if the LEDs are on. It has to be dark out for me to see the light. I did move the ground once already and have the same results. Will have to move again I suppose.
