    Hello all,

Have a quick question for you guys. I'm currently on a road trip from So Cal to Dallas/Ft Worth to visit my brother... My '18 Tundra is new to me and this is my first long distance road trip with her. Bought her at 23k miles in November '23 and currently at just a lil over 27k miles.

Just today after filling up outside of Tucson I got a maintenance required message pop-up. No details behind the message, just told me to visit the dealer. My question is this, are these messages/alerts standard when approaching certain mileage on the odometer? I'm guessing because I'm approaching 30k?

It left me a bit worried something might be wrong. I did change my oil a few weeks ago and I do have an AFE dry air filter with DD exhaust, that's about it for performance type mods. Was thinking maybe it could be a dirty air filter.

Well I just thought maybe I don't have to worry too much about it and maybe it's just a standard message that pops up when nearing 30k so I reset my maintenance at my next stop for gas. No messages has came back and I'm hoping it stays that way. Still got some ways to go and gotta get back home next week with a few many stops on the way back.

Did you reset the maintenance required indicator when you changed the oil?

No, I didn't reset it after the oil change. It wasn't on at that time. Should that be something I do after each oil change even though it's not on?

    Hahaha

My next set when these wear down are gonna be a lil beefier. Already got some 18" wheels ready for install. Planning on fitting maybe 33's with a small size lift. But that'll be much later. My truck hardly ever sees any mileage.

Yes. You need to reset it. You can also program it to alert you at a certain mileage for a number of maintenance items. The owners manual tells you how to do it all.
