I will admit this is the first expensive knife I have seen thru pictures that do not have a bunch of obvious flaws. Now is one of 20 worth that much????? I will never know from personal experience. It is or looks like a dang fine very nicely build knife! :)

I have four one offs that my wife and I enjoy!!!:)

I guess it’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it but this was a production knife that retailed around 780 bucks… so 1k markup

Daughter went to the Vegetable place today and the shroom guy was there. She bought us a small box that had Blue Oyster, Chestnut Oyster, Lions Mane, and 4 small Shitakes. I fixed a slab of ribs and sautéed the lions Mane and Shitake. Those two types were delicious and went good with the ribs!!:) (first time eating Lions Mane) both were meaty and very filling. Tomorrow the Oyster mushrooms with ??????

Lions Mane on the left, white and pillow fluffy like

I personally haven’t seen much other than heavy rain and winds. Worst I’ve had it was having to pick limbs up out of the yard.

The kids and I attended Blade Show Atlanta over the weekend. Had a good time but I’ll probably stick to the Texas show in the future. It was a hell of a lot of traveling. This is my favorite pick up at the show, an E-Knives exclusive Chaves.

The handle started with a piece like this IMG_1469.jpg
Then I stabilized it, trmmed it and cast it in some epoxy with a little bit of pearlescent powder and some Aztec gold dye.
Then I epoxied it together with both yellow and black layers of G-10 liner.

This pair of “Bird & Trout” knives have mesquite handles and black g-10 liners. Mesquite is so dense that it doesn’t absorb much color, but one of these is dyed red and the other is blue.IMG_1478.jpg IMG_1477.jpg IMG_1476.jpg IMG_1475.jpg

I scored a great deal from SMKW on Father's Day. Got a Boker Copper Burlap Micarta stockman. Made in Solingen exclusively for SMKW. 01 steel acid etched blade with copper bolsters, pins, and liner. $75. Half off! 01 steel has low chromium content so I will need to keep it oiled. I'm really liking it.
