Truck is 2020 tundra with 115k miles.. truck started great this morning showed no signs of my alternator starting to mess up… got done working and went to start my truck and was dead.. got it jumped and started running fine then while driving dash would start going crazy and radio kept restarting and got it limped home… battery gauge kept fluctuating on amps… could this be a fuse issue or alternator problem?

    thanks!

Are you sure it isn't your battery?

Original battery… got the alternator tested and said it was only pushing 11v to 12v… when I got home I turned it off and tried turning on again and was dead again.

    Too many, but not enough....
Put a meter on battery then watch it as you start the truck. If it drops below 10V get a new battery

Sounds like your due for an alternator and overdue for a battery. Alternator voltage is too low.

At your mileage you should probably consider a new belt and a tensioner as well. Then put the used belt up in the spare tire well for an emergency.

Highly unlikely you need an entire new (read: $200-$400) alternator. Rather just need the $25 replaceable brushes inside the alternator.

What is the best way to get power steering bolts out? I’ve got 1 long one out but I’m unable to get the other out… do you have to get it out from the side? Looks like the bolt is right inline with the pulley

Do your turn signals work with jumper cables? If not, check that 7.5 IGN fuse mentioned above.

There is a hole in the pully that allows you to put a socket through it to get to the bolt.
