Does anyone have one of these Yukon roller chests? If so is it worth the spend? Opinions on it welcomed.

What’s a telltale sign that the transmission is going out? Tried towing roughly 300lbs with my tundra today and it had a rough time, the fluid in it is new so i know it’s not that, and i used L since i would be ≈10mph, and she was NOT having it. Sluggish/Tense and LOUD. Not having a hard time shifting, but the previous owner(s) would tow a LOT with it, and rip it around like it was a racecar. Is it on it’s way out, or is that normal?

Only 300 lbs? Shouldn't need low.

I just wanted to be sure i had enough pressure off the transmission, not overwork it. Something i forgot to mention, it overheated the last time i towed with it, and that was in Drive.

The radiator overheated? So the temp guage was high on the dash?

Just to be clear, you really mean 300 lbs? Seems like the truck should tow that like there's nothing in the bed. A couple people in the cab can weigh 300 lbs.

No, the transmission overheated. It was roughly 70° F outside, and the truck was scorching to the touch.

Yes, only 300 lbs. Radiator and all didn’t overheat but the entire back end was incredibly hot, and the transmission afterwards drove incredibly hard. After cooling off for the night it was fine. Bed was empty and had 5 or so people in it weighing 400ish lbs.

What do you mean the entire "back end" was hot? What specifically was hot? Have you done regular maintenance like verified your rear brakes aren't stuck and you have oil in all your boxes and driveline/joints are lubricated?

I haul 300 pounds in my bed all the time, damn near weekly in pallet/ bon fire wood. My truck doesn't struggle in the least. I am starting to suspect there's a larger issue here. That rear axle needs gone through thoroughly

+1. Exactly. Suggest checking rear brake shoes aren't dragging and rear diff oil level to start. But again...what is hot? Can use a $15 IR thermometer to measure transmission, rear diff, brakes, etc.

Thought I had a coil issue, could not see spark. But it's turned into a bad flooding issue. Needle seems to be operating fine, carb cleaned it out, diaphram looked fine too.
Floods out the exhaust on like 3-4 pulls. When checking for spark it was shooting fuel out of the cylinder aggressively, wth? 20240519_121628.jpg 20240519_125502.jpg

I went riding today and pretty sure I hit a rock with my shifter. Now I can barely get it to grab 2nd gear. I'm guessing I damaged the selector fork...? Not looking forward to this repair.

I have done regular maintenance yes, everything is lubed and all the fluids in everything were replaced a year ago and i’ve put 3k miles on it since. All the fluids are still good. I mean literally the bed, the panels, the tirewalls, rims, whole thing was scorching. Just about flaked off all of my clear coat. You could see the heat coming from under it. I mean very hot on everything in the back half.

Sounds like carb to me, I’ve experienced similar and everything appeared okay but a new carb fixed it (new carbs are cheap, rebuild is easy though if you can get a proper kit).
Do you have spark now? I had a spark issue on my 353, turned out that the coil gap wasn’t correct (too close), gapped it properly and then ran great.

I was thinking WTF, he’s got an electric dirt bike with one gear but I’m guessing he’s got a gasser as well. Or do the electrics have more than one?
