If the lawn crew did this, I'd totally fire them fuckers. There are clippings sprayed all over the side and tailgate of the truck too. If it was the neighbor, we're definitely having a one-sided conversation. Just uncalled for.

Yeah, now imagine marine grease applied to the windows before adding grass clippings.

No damage to my steel. I was mainly pissed because I got pulled out of a vet appt from the doctors next door telling me one of their patients hit me and left, but couldn’t give me their info…….hippa BS

How is that even hippa to ID someone who committed a crime? It’s hippa to disclose what they were being seen for. I swear everyone throws that around and they don’t even know what it really means.

I would also be mad, not so much from the fact that it’s grass and they had no decency to try not to directly cover your truck in it, but more what else did the blades throw at your truck? Small rocks for example?

 

Okay, lol. So maybe I was a little rash in posting about my being irked in the moment. What I guess I didn't share was that the truck had been parked in an area were the sprayed side was facing a gravel area, the pic was taken at the gas station where I noticed what had been done. Having mowed and trimmed many a yard in my youth (had a little money making side gig), I was always (eventually) cognizant of other peoples property and where the discharge of the mower decks were directed after sandblasting the side of a vehicle or house (not saying that's what happened in this case) or breaking a window due to an errant bit of gravel before experiencing a Blinding Flash of the Obvious and changing my technique. I guess that I just have an issue with a professional landscaping business having such disregard in that manner.

 

My neighbor is doing a ton of work in her backyard - tore down a shed, dirt work for a french drain, etc. Her crew just damaged my $9k fence (her husband who is now deceased never helped pay for it like he said he would). I could've gone over there in scorched earth mode (as my wife was) or I could've politely asked how she was doing and mentioned the fence. I chose the latter and have kept open civilized comms.

There's a time for scorched earth and there isn't.

 

I think it's safe to say it's not just grass. I cringe every time I drive past some dude mowing or trimming next to the street just blowing everything at everyone driving by.

I have stopped and honked before. Just to wave at the guy. He waves back and turns off the blades as I go by. All good.

 

Additionally, I have sussed out that it was a contractor and not the neighbor. A civil message was sent to the contractor.

 

As a guy who has broken his own glass door with his lawnmower, that’s so irrelevant. Grass clippings are going to go wherever, and will be blown/washed away wherever. I was halfway across my lawn when I hit something that kicked up into my glass door. I work as a police officer and have had plenty of calls where cars across a parking lot have had a window broken by a lawnmower time and time again over the years. The only way you’ll avoid that is by not using a lawnmower.

 

When I edge my yard some stuff will get on the neighbor's car.
It doesn't look anything like that.
It usually blows off with the leaf blower when I 'sweep' the sidewalks..

Although back when he had his yard done the crew blew his grass clippings on my sidewalk and driveway.
I walked out, looked at it, looked at the guy mowing, and said' What the fuck vato?'.
He quickly blew it back into the neighbor's yard..

He mows his self now and that's a rarity.

 

Exactly this^^^^^^^, respecting others property!! People do not do this much anymore more! I truly think most morons do not even know the meaning!!!! And they do not care!!!


When I do my yard work I stop edging and I stop with the weed whacker when ever a car is coming, same with the blower! Most give me a wide birth and have had people stop and thank me 1. For stopping and 2. For picking up our mess!!

At least it was my truck not someone else’s.

 

That's not too bad luckily, but I might mention it to whomever was doing the yard work and ask if they could be more careful. Though, years ago, my wife and I were out to eat and we drove her Lexus. The parking lot was almost empty too. I watched two landscape guys with leaf blowers just blow crap from all over the parking parking lot into our car, literally giving zero shits. I went out and ripped them a new one.

Yes, in my haste some details weren't available and that's entirely on me. Here's how my vehicle was parked at the time. I can only judge that the contractor ran through this space with a string trimmer, which from many years of personal experience can throw debris quite effectively.
