MOOD LIGHTING 2023 Tundra

I have a 2023 Tundra(1794) it's SO dark at night inside, the only light comes form large screen. I am aware of the mood lighting but can only get it to work when lights are off? Does anyone know if it's possible to have them on while headlights are on?

My mood lighting works with headlights on, 2024 1794 version.

 

Mood lighting works by the light sensor I’m assuming on the dash?

 

I believe the mood lighting will not turn on if the instrument cluster dimmer is on its lowest setting, you have to bump it up one notch

 

I leave my headlight switch on auto mainly. And the mood lighting comes on when it’s parked in the garage. My assumption was it’s bc of the dark/light sensor on the dash that signals the mood? Or am I mistaken ?

 

The mood light will turn on when I unlock to grab something from the truck in the garage despite the truck being off. Example like forgetting an item and going back to get it.

 

Gotcha that makes total sense lol. I just know it comes on in the dark with the auto setting. Thanks Greg

1-I have the setting all the way up on instrument cluster
2- Definitely will not turn on when headlights are on either on standard or auto setting.
3-The mood lighting works and has 3 settings, BUT only when headlights are off?

 

on an SR5 what is the level of difficulty of adding the LED in the center consle? I have the footwell, cup holder area and phone area already (factory)

 

we dont even notice the blue light in our platinum. its so muted (hence mood lighting) that its pointless really. i could do without it personally.
