Haha. You didn’t disappoint on the banter. I’m both amused and confused… do you still drive a Toyota? Is the fair weather comment for me/euro considering GM? Or for considering a Gen3, because it’s not a Toyota?
And oh, did you see the license plate in link in Post 29?

All I get out of this is you can't make a decision. Just buy the GM and be happy. We will all survive just fine with out you

Some don’t like the seats in GM trucks, they’re pretty firm according to some. I don’t have a problem with them personally, at least not the front seats in GM trucks or Suburbans. Current Suburbans with a 2nd row bench the seat is pretty cheap, the back will flex inside the backrest and make noise. Similar to a plastic or thin metal sheet springing back to shape. Very annoying.

Your use case indicates a 3/4 ton would be a better fit. Current 1/2 tons are so crammed full of amenities that the payloads are no longer useful, so anything beyond homeowner grade stuff is probably best served with 3/4 tons and up.

    Just my unsolicited opinion.

Next year supposedly Ram is ditching the dogshit 68RFE transmission in their 2500 and up HD trucks to be replaced by a commercial duty ZF Powerline 8 speed. I’m throwing up in my mouth admitting this but a Cummins in front of the ZF Powerline 8 speed might solve A LOT of Ram’s problems.

All part of the service. And at no extra cost!

I don't drive it so much as try to prevent it from killing me and everyone else in a 3 mile radius with a fiery, plasma-inducing transmission explosion.

    I hope that helps.

It was strictly meant to wither what is left of @Euroweenie soul: the tree killer, negligent discharge impresario.

It escaped my notice. I go there now in the hope that the link takes me to some very ribald yet tasteful Victorian era pornography.

It would be best if I were not disappointed, if you wish to edit the link before I get there.

GM 10 speed 6.2L engine? If so yes in my wife's Cadillac Escalade and the new GM is way worse than the old GM. I'd run for the hills if faced with GM. Granted I hope most of the issues are corrected but kept getting low engine oil light. They finally found an oil pan gasket pinched and fixed. Still got the light once after that and then wife got sudden loss of power on the freeway every light you can think lit up on dash. They couldn't replicate issue in shop but said it sounded like stuck fuel injector and fixed it as it is a common problem on 22 escalades. After all this- multiple low engine oil lights I bitched like nuts and GM stepped up. Extended the factory warranty to 137k miles. That was 7000 miles ago and knock on wood no issues since.

Honestly in your post i would agree the new GMC 2500 trucks in the their version of cement look badass. I've also seen their heavy duty segment get good marks on reliability. But I know multiple people that have bad issues with the 3.0L diesel and one that has not had one issue and loves it.

After what you described and your preference for non hybrid. I would look for a 2018-2021 2.5 gen TRD Pro that's lightly used. You'll save money. It will check all your boxes. And has newer technology except for a giant screen (who cares you're not watching TV on it). A lot of the annoying tech won't be on it either. Beeps about backing up and sudden braking (read thread about it on 2022 many have to get aftermarket app just to disable) 2018-2021 has the stuff that works like Toyota safety sense with adaptive cruise which is a nice feature.

The new tundra turning radius- not a fan. Definitely drives more car like. I haven't driven one lifted. Also after driving the limited hybrid 2023 with TRD off-road,TRD pro,and multiple SR5 TRD off-road when renting trucks I'd say the pro drove the best.

    GM doesn't have a 6.2L motor in a HD truck...FYI

Thanks for the info & speaking for everyone. The 6.6l with 10 Speed is a new package that I am just soliciting information on. Anyway, I’ll still give you a trophy for participating.

Nope, that’s the thing, it’s a new 6.6l coupled with a new 10 speed. I think been out about a year now. The old way 6.2l with 8 speed I think.
Thanks @BuckWallace for that info. And thanks @Joro43 for that info. They do look pretty cool, although this one had the dreaded chrome.
