    Hi folks,

I have a 2020 Tundra SR5 and it came with the heated towing mirrors that have the orange lights on the sides. My passenger side one has a crack in the orange lens. The lights in it still work fine but I want to replace the lens.

I believe I found the part I need at:

    https://onlineparts.toyotasouthatla...ignal-Light-Assembly/49115113/817310C020.html

Can you folks be so kind as to confirm or deny that this is the correct part? Also, any videos out there on how to change it out?
    Thanks.

At a glance, looks like the opposite side.

The website doesn't specify for right or left side for this particular part. It might be the same for both.

Maybe so, can't remember the shape clearly. I just remember a somewhat odd shape and if they are wider towards the bottom and kinda straight on one side I think they'll be kinda like mirror image opposites. Will look at mine closely in the daylight.

I had the same thing happen years back when I had my Tundra, I'm not sure if they sell just the "lens", I believe it's all one piece with the light, as for removing, check YouTube they have some vids, you have to carefully pry pop out the mirror and the lens is held by 2 phillip screws, but if I remember, you may get away with getting the lens off without having to pry pop off the mirror, I believe it was moving mirror all the way in or out, good luck

I think you're right, I need the whole light assembly. IF what I linked to is the correct part it's pretty cheap though. If i just had the exact part name or number it would be a huge help. If I can find the time during the week I'll call around to find out. Whatever I get for information I'll post here so others will know too.

Each side is different on my OEM. The shape will not allow universal fit.

A body shop might be able to do a quick search and produce a part number.

I have a set of replacement lenses I think. I'll have to look in the garage when I get in to confirm.

    I appreciate the replies, thanks.

The right side only light on EBay is for the crew cab. I have the "SR DBL CAB LONG BED" according to Toyota.com

Pretty sure the mirrors are the same across all models. You either have sport mirrors or towing mirrors

Should be towing mirrors, they slide out further by pulling on them. Sorry guys, i don't know crap about 4 wheelers. I drive a Freightliner 95% of the time.

I ordered the single RH lens Jwood562 and 2mchfun pointed out. it was the last one available there so I scarfed it up.
Texasrho83, I appreciate you mentioning you might have some, thanks. Just in case you don't end up finding them though, I figured I better buy one.

I hope the following is as simple as it sounds. I REALLY don't want to scratch up or break the mirror housing.
Any tips for the mentally handicapped?

    Installation Instructions:

    1. Tools Needed: Screwdriver
    2. Locate the passenger side towing mirror on your Tundra.
    3. Gently remove the old turn signal lens cover by carefully prying it out.
    4. Insert the new Genuine OEM Passenger Side Towing Mirror Turn Signal Lens into the designated slot.
    5. Ensure the lens is securely in place.
    Installation Time: Approximately 10 minutes

It is. You can adjust the mirror to access the screws. I removed mine to paint them and it was probably less than 90 seconds to take out.

As you notice though, the instructions don't mention screws. It says to pry it out.

BTW, I DID look up on toyata.com for the part number using my VIN number. It has the perfect match for the left/driver's side. Right side? "Fitment not available at this time". My nickname is Lucky. Not.

Cab style doesn't matter, I think maybe the screws are for entire light replacement, not just the lense. I could be wrong though.

Sent this to the EBay seller:

"I'm a little confused and hope you can tell me this is the right part. It is for the passenger side towing mirror.

    My VIN# is:

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXX"

    Received this reply:

"yes, this is the lens for the tow mirror passenger side.
    Thanks"

The part came today. Took it outside and it looks identical to the one on the passenger side, extendable sideview mirror, which is what I need. Part number is 81731-0C020. (Those are all number zero's not letter O's.) Actual part name on the box is RH TURN INDICATOR/RUNNING.

Okay. How to put it in without scratching or destroying the mirror and/or it's housing. Looking at the new part, it's just two screws that hold it in.
I read here or somewhere to put the mirror in it's highest and inner most position to access the screws. Here's the question. Are the screws magnetic? Will a magnetic screwdriver hold them? I can picture myself loosening them and having them fall inside the mirror housing, YAY. Once that little roadblock is conquered it looks like you just push the old lens out and slide the new one in from the outside of the housing, being sure to line up the socket while doing so. A mechanic I am not. I will, maybe, proceed with this after a little input from others on here. I'm sure it's easy if one just knows how to go about it. Big thanks for all the input so far and future help and tips. Much appreciated.

So what I used was a magnetic drive handle and long Milwaukee torx bit, they have about a 2” very thin shaft and will fit in with the mirror tilted all the way up and out of the way

Sounds like I'll skip the video tex.
Jwood, sounds like the screws aren't magnetic but a magnet will hold them. I think we have a set of torx bits around here in the garage. Magnetic? I'll find out.
Right now I gotta hit the hay. Up at 5:15, sleepin' in!

Magnetic screwdriver and park on a hill so if they fall, they fall out and down to the ground. Easy!

Finally found some time to delve into this. In one video it says to pop the mirror glass out by prying from the bottom. A different video says to pry from the top. I tried neither as I don't want to break the glass. Adjusted the mirror all the way in so I could see the two screws holding it in. Looks like torque bits to me. Tried a T-15 bit but it looks like it just barely started to strip so I gave up rather than ruin it. Maybe that happened because I couldn't put the bit squarely into the hole with the glass in the way.

I used these bits. They have a very narrow shaft so it is easier to get the bit to sit square to avoid stripping.
