Extended Warranty

I am in Texas and bought from Jerry.

 

I hope that is the case. I have sent him my info. Previously, in this forum or a different thread, folks said he doesn't do out-of-state. It is great if that is wrong. Thanks for responding.

 

Yup, incorrect. I’m in Va and he helped me out. It’s a dance getting a hold of him but you’ll save hundreds if not thousands

 

I bought from Jerry last week and I’m in Florida. Super cool guy just very busy. Just give him a call every so often.

I just bought a used 22 Tundra with around 56k miles, the dealer tried to get me to buy an extended warranty through them, but I thought the price was steep. Does anyone know if Jerry sells them on used trucks purchased through toyota dealers?

 

Nope, just the factory extended warranty which needs to be purchased before hitting 3 years or 36 months from when the truck was first sold as new.

 

unfortunately the used toyota oem vsa has to be bought during the sale of a used toyota.

only the new toyota oem vsa can be bought within the 3yr/36month window.

How about on my '23 with ~10K miles but I bought it certified pre-owned last august?

 

I’m ordering mine tomorrow, with maintenance pack to extend out the 2 year Maintenance and include all the Major services.

Coverage of factory-recommended maintenance for your 30,000-, 35,000-, 40,000-, and 45,000-mile services.

 

Does anyone know if Jerry does other manufacturers other than Toyota?

How is it Southeast Toyota prices are way higher and have a deductible? I don't understand.

 

Dealerships can decide what warranty and maintenance products they want to offer. Some don't offer Toyota Financial Services products but will honor them. I've seen this with other brands, too. I bought an Acura and when shopping, three local dealers had different warranty, maintenance, paint sealant, etc. products. Only one of them sold official Acura/Honda VSA products, but all of them would honor them and the official Acura/Honda VSA products were more expensive than what I found outside of my area.

I've just learned never to buy warranty or pre-paid service during the sale.

 

its because SET/GST financial arm is a private entity that runs its own warranty agreements.

have to remember SET/GST existed prior to toyota usa existing in usa, so they fall outside the rules of toyota usa.

 

SET uses a company called Fidelity something, which I believe is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SET. When I had a Toyota Financial extended warranty my local SET dealer handled repairs as if it was the factory warranty. I also had to have a warranty repair out of state (Michigan to be exact) and that dealer handled the SET warranty as if it was a factory warranty. I believe all dealers should handle the extended warranty (be it Toyota Financial or SET's) the same.

 

fidelity warranty services was founded by jim moran, the same person who founded SET (at least from what i can tell, since the copyright for fidelity is owned by jim moran and associates.

SETF (southeast toyota finance) also know as omni world finance before coming SETF. i remember them when i was a teen in highschool in GA and i bought my brand new 1984 celica gt from a dealer in auburn-opeilika.

once i got older, i realized how bad being in the SET region was compared to being outside SET/GST
