Much as that one irritates me, it is technically a real word. It was only used by the uneducated peasantry and mentally deficient in the past. Now it's 50/50 on if it'll be used. Definitely makes the user sound retarded, though.

The solutions were billed based on usage, after the usage occurred. He would proudly and with flair tell customers it was 'paid in the rear'. I never corrected him on it.

 

As far as I understand it, irrespective is a word but irregardless is not.

Well, I'm going w/those that use them are mentally deficient and lack an appropriate education.

Also, the ('s) is meant to be possessive or show possession when used and is not meant to be used to indicate more than one. In other words...

'my gun's magazine holds 10 rounds of ammunition' would be proper use.

I have (3) Tesla's is not proper use of the ('s)...

However, we are not a point in society where using ('s) when indicating plural is also 'grammatically correct'. However, it doesn't mean it's proper to do so. See a second example of when it's proper to use an ('s); as a contraction

Even your little picture post makes my point. If it's a word and its use is proper, why wouldn't you use it in a term paper; cuz you'd get graded down for its use cuz your freakin' grammar sucks

I sure would like to slap whoever has been adding words to the dictionary the last 10 years or so, along with whoever has been choosing the "word of the year".

 

I'm okay with a word being added if it's a new word for new things, but not when it's redefining or replacing an existing and perfectly functional word.

 

I'm not a fan of obnoxious zoomer slang being added.
