Alright I'm awake! First a picture to set the tone
    20240511_002922.jpg

Went to the UP hoping to see extra magical northern lights (unbelievably didn't show) Taking dirt roads you're not familiar with after rain in the middle of the night with next to no reception is not the smartest thing a fella can do. The road was muddy and bumpy but nothing too terrible. Until I lost steering lol. The slippery ass clay finally got me. Caked up the tires so thick that I started veering right while on a straight stretch. Experience gained over the years made me coast to a controlled stop to think before making any rash decisions. Tried backing up to get away from the nasty ditch on the right. No go. Try back forward. Nope, still going towards the ditch. Hmmmm. Air down time. In 4low with 10 psi idle crawling was able to get to a spot to turn around. I really needed wheel speed to clear out the tires but gassing it anywhere would have been a one way ticket to the ditch with the clay racing slicks I was rocking. Took like half an hour of idle or JUST above idling crawling to go like a 1/4 mile before I could gun it and clean the treads out. Less scary but still scary the rest of the way out. Insult to injury was no northern lights the entire time. Obviously adventure was had and memories were made so it wasn't a waste, but damn if the northern lights not being out when I went further north sure was strange. Glad I finally got to see them though when I got home.

    Rest of the pics

    That’s your Over 40 wisdom talking…

Back in high school I would occasionally run into buddies at the local 7-11 just before curfew. We were all buying Slurpies to ice our nuts before we got home. Fond memories… all b/c we couldn’t get fondle memories.

So, question; not being a smart ass, but genuinely curious... Would chains help w/traction in deep wet clay??

That was a hell of a roller coaster ride @LarryDangerfield. I'm glad you made it back safe, and you can chalk this one up as something you'll never want to do again. Or will you?

That's a good question! There's a real chance that it could have helped. Also could have just packed up like the tires were, not sure to be honest.

Truth be told I don't search out the high stress high focus situations but it did make for a good memory so it was worth it in the end. And honestly, I'm sure it will happen again

I really should considering I have some at home but I just haven't gotten a mount for them yet. Thankfully the ARB deflator and vlair inflator combo was enough

They were visible at the OBX. We had total clouds here. Supposed to be clear tonight, but they won't be as intense.

I was going to say you can come get time or cover shipping and I’ll send you mine. I only used it twice. Once to rescue myself, and once to rescue a Fwd sedan stuck in the middle of the street during a snow storm lol

So....3.5hrs into this fucking cooler install and I've got a bolt cross threaded or jammed up. It's half in and either frozen or I'm unable to get it to turn because I have to be a fucking monkey with magic tools to get my wrenches to find purchase on the bolt head. I'm fucking over this project. It's fought me the entire time and I'm done. Not sure I can get my sawzall into the gap and if I do there are a ton of hoses I risk cutting. Cannot just leave it...any suggestions besides blowing up the entire truck?

P.S. FUCK YOU TOYOTA FOR REMOVING THE COOLER.
