I was treated to my first ever waffle house a couple years back while in Ft Worth for work.
It reminded me of the George Webb we used to end up at after bar time in Milwaukee.

 

but they are a much closer tie for be with French toast

When we were doing sourdough, I loved sourdough waffles

 

I’ve got a buddy that does keto waffles like that…but all protein powder and stuff

Pancakes and French Toast are both superior to waffles.

No pics of it yet. Didn't get home until earlier today and I was exhausted. Awake for 26 hours straight and I drove 90% of the miles. I was pretty dead and didn't think about it.

 

As a little treat for the French toast lovers. Cut a hole in the bread and add an egg when you toast it. You can thank me later.

Hilarious how the universe works. I had not heard that name for the food, though knew of it's existence, until today. Phone call with a buddy and he said the name; I had no idea it was more than "an egg in toast."

 

I’m weird
I have no issue with 99% of my food getting mixed up/touching/whatever. But for some fucked up reason, I can’t stand syrup on my eggs. Like I’ll eat my eggs first and THEN put syrup on the waffles/french toast/pancakes. I’ll even mop up the yokes with the syrupy bread things, but just can’t eat the egg itself with syrup on it.

yeah - we did them as regular toasted bread too. Called them One Eyed Jacks

I don’t mind the runny yolks mixing with syrup.
But the cooked egg whites (or scrambled) getting syrup in them is nasty.
