Retrax. Ready lift. Just bought 3 weeks ago! Looking to add a rack system and winch bumper, then move from there.
IMG_0078.jpg IMG_0084.jpg IMG_0078.jpg IMG_0084.jpg Bought a 2021 trd pro with a retrax cover on it. It has leaked since I purchased it. Not just the tailgate leak, and yes my drain tubes are fine. It leaks at the wheel well area and all throughout the actual slats. Tried repositioning multiple times, resealed the rails, took to rack attack for an adjustment and still leaks. I wanted this to be able to carry bags and camping gear, fridge without worrying about a lot of water intrusion. Thinking of going to a full topper like a GFC or RSI but hate to spend the money if there is a fix. Pictures to show issues. This was from maybe 30mins of not heavy rain. It’s enough to soak gear after a couple hours of rain.

I am having the same issues with my pro XR. It has been underwhelming since I bought it new, I have not been able to get it to stop leaking

Did either of you tried to reach out to the original manufacture to see if they have a solution?
I tried with them on other things and generally they are pretty good about communicating.

Yup reached out to Retrax and they just resent me the installation instructions and told me I should try reinstalling it again. Not a huge help

Understood, get back to them and state the issue again, along with pictures/videos and all that.
I had a weird sound when open/closing and with video, they identified a faulty bearing and we tried to take care of it that way.
    Good luck!

Also, if you would like, go through whoever you got it from, and see if they can help you that way.

EDIT: Sorry, was working when I first read this, and now I have a few more minutes I re-read that first post again.
So the cover came with the truck? If so, likely it was damaged in someway and that's why it is dripping/leaking. Not sure if ReTrax would wanna help but worse case, get a new one then. Sorry about the bad news.

I get mine installed by a local dealer next week. I hope it doesn’t leak or minimally considering nothing is fully weatherproof as all manufacturers state. Good luck getting yours tightened up

I don't know if these guys trucks were bought new or used, but Retrax only warrants to the original purchaser.

Retrax Warranty Policy & Registration | RealTruck

Doesn't seem Water intrusion is a warranty issue, which is kinda silly..

OK, dumb question on Retrax. Installed mine about 2 years ago. Soon after installation I slide into the bed with it closed, I looked up and saw 2 strips of tape that ran the length of the cover. I assumed it was for shipping and therefore removeable. Anyway I left it alone. Does anyone know if it's removeable?

Yes. I think I know what you are talking about, I think it is there mostly for when shipping it doesn't bang up due to loose parts.

There's a lot of these stories about retrax and the other retractables. There's definitely more with the Pro. Not many with the ONE. I've been doing a lot of research on tonneau covers lately and the most reliable ones have the least amount of moving parts and hinges. More bonus points for things that mount on top of the bed rails, not between. Unfortunately, I haven't seen/heard anyone have a fix for that. Even if you surgically apply silicon, the rolling will break the seal again. Your best bet will be the classic one piece fiberglass lid.

If you buy a new one, keep in mind that nothing is watertight.

I had a Bakflip G2 for many years on my 09 Crewmax and was not impressed with it. It was ready for the dumpster when I traded the truck. Admittedly after close to 10 years, but started needing frequent maintenance and repair well before that. And some things on it broke that were really not fixable that I just
Learned to live with and work around for awhile. The wire clamp release letting go in the last couple years was a biggie.

On my Ford I have had a 670 Rugged liner branded folding hard tonneau for 2 years. It does not fold against the cab. It has the standard clamps all the cheap knock off folding hard covers on Amazon have. Not flush mount, no drain tubes.

I keep wanting to swap to something fancier but it all leaks more or has bits and pieces fall off out of the box or in the first 6 months. I looked hard at the X4s or the various retractables but can't bring myself to do it.

We are having down pours all day and I know when I go out and check there'll be barely a drop if anything on my kid's sports gear and the chairs i keep back there. Only wear is divots in the aluminum I put in because I was a knuckle head about remembering to fold the clamps in the first few times I folded it.

About the only thing it sounds like I can upgrade to that will be just as reliable and water resistant while offering more functionality is going to be the Leer HF650. But I am holding my fire as I'd feel dumb getting rid of my trouble free almost leak free 670 cover for something that costs more but gives me problems I didn't have before

Agree mine leaks badly - the drain holes in the box and provided drain solution is pitiful. Mine won’t stay in its hole, it barely grips. I was thinking of Home Depot run and get new parts to create a drain at the tail gate. I have a bed rug, and I haven’t drilled into my bed for good reason. I’m getting ready on a trip with my RV, I’m rethinking what I’m placing inside now.

Side note, I’ve removed my spare and will place in the bed. Just incase I have a blowout, I won’t have to unhitch… I’m just sharing.. my brain thinks too much…
