Questions, yes many questions regarding Icon 2.0 vs. 2.5 series for 14 Tundra crewmax. I've got spacers and blocks now, but have decided it's time to be an adult and get serious about the suspension. Unfortunately, no deserts to run here in MD, but we do have public beaches where I fish, and mountain trails to crawl. I'm looking to go versatile here. I'd like some more travel overall and I get it w/ Icon. Their reviews are solid and products seem top shelf. Plan is tubular UCAs w/ delta joints. I'm entertaining either Stage 2 w/ the 2.0 coilovers and shocks, or stage 5 w/ the 2.5's (bigger, beefy, + ext. reservoirs) both kits have the add a leaf pack. What's everyone's experience been with these? Solid setup, money is better spent elsewhere? Cost is a concern and it'll be sweat labor putting them in. Feedback is really appreciated!

If you're not bombing deserts, there's no real reason to go with the stage 5 kit for performance reasons -- the stage 2 will be just fine for the needs you mentioned. That said, ICONs are a great choice despite the cost and I'm running remote reservoirs on 2.5s up front myself along with Omega bypasses in the rear.

Appreciate some truth! Sales guys know how to get right to my core, they tell me bigger is always better :) I'm simple, so of course I love their pitch. Thanks for the experienced advice. Any noticeable difference in ride over stock? I thought ride would get a little chunky with spacers/blocks, but it's still smooth.

You may want to look at the Stage 3 setup, it has 2.5" rear shocks - larger fluid capacity than the stage 2 rear shocks and larger shock shaft
I did a modified version of the Icon Stage 3 setup - 2.5" coil-overs, 2.5" rear shocks, Icon upper control arms, and Toytec rear shackles

"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..." over the KO2's looks great! I'm on 31" KO2's now and will be stepping up to 33" in another 10K miles or so. Great visual though gives me a really good perspective. Looks like the tubular UCA's, did you do the delta joint? Primary concern is that in MD we salt the shit out of the road, and the corrosion on a uniball would be hell. I feel like I'd be on constant upkeep with the uni set up.

I have the uni set up. It was very stiff steering in the beginning but it's all good now. They make a cover for the top to keep junk out. fad77b1b90fe74c41b6f3e89eccb7443_ff8872f65d7b61ebbb80e81bf5f2dd09efa35f59.jpg

@Omohundro im in the same boat as you. My choices are icon stage 2 or 2 or go with toytec radflos. I know icons have 1.5" more travel than stock which sounds more appealing. I can't find any information if boss or radflos have any more travel than stock. I don't bash my truck but want the best ride possible.

Please keep us updated with which method you go with and how you like the outcome.

I put the leaf packs in, and then removed them. The ride was very stiff, hindsight I should have drove it for awhile.

I've NEVER installed a set of Icon leafs and the customer not like them. One of the best aftermarket leaf spring solutions outside of a custom pack. I sell them every chance I get! I'd run em if i weren't trying to catch air everywhere I go! :mudding:

Icon does not make 2.0 coilovers, so just keep in mind no matter what Icon stage you do, you will be improving the front end. Tailor the kit to you needs currently and what you plan on doing. Far too many people tailor what they buy to what can scrape them by and they end up regretting it.

I have thought about trying them agin, but it was a drastic change in ride. I took a few coworkers on a ride and they all said the same thing. It was way stiff in the rear.

Yeah, up front the 2.5's no doubt are going to be everything I need. I'm seeing some fade now in my OE leaf springs and the 2" blocks. That's what has gotten me seeking a more solid solution.

    None, yet....
Or.... you can go with the stage 7 and upgrade to the 3.0 coilovers. I'm thinking this is my plan. Because reasons............
