Mmmm scotch my favorite. But this is my logic if I drink one drink an hour by the end of the second hour the first drink has been filtered out of my body therefore I still only have one drink in my body and I can drink all day like that and not get drunk. I don't know if my body's just special or if my liver is just a gladiatory champion; however it's just how my body rolls.

You’re a better man than I. Tried pacing half bottle at a time but that didn’t work either. Tried taking only 1 drink with me on latest trip which worked out well. Didn’t have a chance to drink more.

Hmm. Did you spray off the shoes? Maybe now grease the shoes at the specified points where they contact the backing plate.

So, funny you mention it, because I'm realizing I think my only-in-reverse-only-after-sitting high pitched shreik coming from the brakes likely started after I replaced two wheel studs, which obviously required removing the drum, and during the process, I hit things with Brakleen because I was in there. I didn't spray anything I thought was a contact point that required re-lubing, but I may've been wrong. I'm thinking at this point, I must've washed away some grease/grime that was stopping two things from rubbing together, in hindsight. Did you happen to clean yours as well while working? If so, I think we have the same issue.

I find that trait to be unusually common with my central/eastern European friends. And a few of them, especially the Germans and Swiss-German, will righteously support you on things while sounding strangely like they're arguing with you. Like, agreeing with you argumentatively. It's the first thing I thought of when I read your last sentence there.

I am finding, out of the blue, just within the last couple of years, I'm having a hard time stopping at just one also. It became more obvious after I had to quit drinking for a couple months, and when I went to have one of my first beers, I finished, and was basically like, "Damn, I enjoyed that one, I desrerve another!" .... And by the 3rd, it went down really easy, and into the 4th, and then I had no more beer, and ... why not a small glass of mezcal or bourbon? And ... yeah.

And this is another reason I cut back extremely heavily. I've relegated to only drinking when I'm out, and capping it at one typically, two cocktails max if staying more than 2hr minutes (which works, b/c I want to make sure at least one of us is sober to drive) or when company is over. I think I may just quit "drinking" in the near future though. Like, totally. I never thought I'd hear myself say that mentally, but here we are.

And, well, it appears I'm not the only one. I feel better about that.

There's other grease points too IIRC maybe at the cylinder, lower pivot contacts, and expansion arm (with the star wheel on it). FSM shows them.

There are some days that they go down way way waaaay to easy and I don't realize it till have the what ever pack is gone, or half the new bottle is gone. I have a rule no drinking on work nights. And that seems to do me well. Nothing wrong with drinking or even getting drunk as long as that's not your normal state

I never thought id "quit" drinking either. But like i said im giving it a break cuz im tired of all the rules I make for myself to allow it at certain times but then that usually all goes out the window anyways.

Im finding NA beer has made it much easier to stop though and I never thought id be drinking that!

Im hoping my "break" turns into a forever break because Im feeling pretty good not drinking in almost 3 months now.

I got myself down to just weekend nights for about 2 years which did work pretty well for me. But it always left me feeling a bit stressed during the week. Completely cutting it out now has actually been feeling pretty good and like I said, im just not good at moderation.

I like to have a drink to relax. I’ve gone overboard a handful of times in the last 10-15 years. I feel like shit when I drink heavy. Trying to stick to lower abv beers and only take a 6 pack. I honestly could / should just quit. It’s usually not that much fun. I don’t drink when I’m traveling for work or really during the week. Usually just social. Or lawn mowing. I really like a couple beers when mowing.

Sounds like you got a pretty good handle on it at least, and theres no doubt about it that its relaxing at certain times. I also started jsut having lower ABV beers and that really helps keep you from overdoing it.

But then I got to a point like you and thought i should jsut quit. I really like the saying, "Its easier to keep a monster in a cage, than on a leash" That is me completely.

Ill also say, NA beers give me almost all the enjoyment and refreshment without the negatives. They have gotten more popular and their are some decent ones out there these days

Self control must be exercised and if one isn't used to strict self awareness it's a chore to learn. Not a knock just a thing I've noticed in my life time. Comes hard to some folk. But it's a needed lesson and skill to be learnt

Good AA chat. After quitting weekday drinking but still over drinking on weekends, "Its easier to keep amonster in a cage, thanon a leash" 6CC95365-7F05-4E97-A75F-95BAB3BBAC4E.jpg

Yup, I'm feeling way better and sleeping a hell of a lot better, and feeling way more refreshed. The sleep stuff didn't kick in til 10-14 days after not having a drink though, it wasn't instantanous and having one 8% ABV tallboy beer would reset the clock.

But I would personally use the term "forever break" loosely because I don't believe in cutting any form of consumption out completely. There's a time and a place for just about everything, except meth/crack/heroin/jenkem/inhalants.

If I could find a good NA I liked, I would alternate with a low abv and be happy as a clam. Open to recommendations

Sounds like an injector if it's only happening mostly at idle. If it were the fuel line or pump I'd have the issue at all speeds. Weird how it just randomly happens then goes away for a while but maybe that's the Heet just doing its job.

That's guy's truck is one of my favorite 1GT. I'd never do all that to my truck as long as it's a personal DD, but I admire what he's done.

Yeah he actually installed a full long travel setup, then decided it wasn’t what he wanted because he goes on a lot of tight crawling trails and the wheelbase was too wide. Went back to mid travel and sold his LT kit. I was actually talking to him for a minute and considered buying it. Money wasn’t right tho

I followed him since he first bought the truck and it was pretty much stock. Caught my attention being a black AC like me. He did do a lot of work in a very short amount of time too

9years 6months dry.... It's a double edge sword for me. It was tied to EVERYTHING fun. It was tied to almost every "friend". I quit (her too) only so my current wife and I would have a better chance at NOT imploding the relationship.
first 1.5 to 2years was hell. I wasn't a drink every day, or drink at work, but an evening stress killer, and weekend Warrior. To be totally honest... the only thing that makes it easier is I have forgotten how good the buzz feels.
I am kind of a worrier, stresser, so now my gut never gets out of it's knot, ever. Well maybe when I sleep. Sometimes I think not being able to relax is going to take more years off my life than the drinking would have.
But for now, I've still got a wife who loves me, and likewise. And I've shed a lot of people in my life that weren't really that good for me. OH, and I got debt fucking free. Amen.
I'm happy to hear all your posts... genuinely happy for you all
