Yes, but also not as far into the run. If the hotels in Primm weren't so dumpy that'd be the place. Want to be closer to the destination than Mesquite.

Stop in Mesquite and stay at the Virgin River. It is an old apartment complex transformed into a "hotel" - very very basic but depending on the day of the week only $20-30 per night last time I checked but that was pre-Covid.

 

Except that mask would not be worn by the thugs. Not unironically at least.

Okay - save it for the return. Everyone has their own distance driving routine and habits. But remember you are on MT and you will be going into PT which means you can get up and leave at 6-7 am PT and get there in plenty of time.
FYI - It is also reported that the construction on I-15 in the Virgin River gorge has finally been completed.

 

Yes, but we have to make it all the way back after getting the bike, and my buddy has another 5 hour drive home after that.

 

No matter how it all plays out you're getting the bike you want. That's a good friend to jump in on the adventure with you.

 

For sure, on both points. We made a similar trip to Arkansas to get his ATV a few years ago. We are both competent drivers (I helped train him for his CDL) and can bullshit for hours, or just sit in silence. It usually works out. He'll also help rein me in from just being super excited when inspecting the bike.
