2008 Toyota tundra. 5.7L Engine dies intermittently. Can manage to get the truck going again on 3rd attempt by feathering gas. P0230 code. Would a fuel pump be best kind one day the die the next.. work fine again. Truck seems to drive fine maybe slightly less power, but I just added a k&N intake.

Did this happen before you installed the K+N also, or just afterward?

It has happened after. Been on about a week before things started happening.

Since you have the PO230 code (fuel pump primary circuit), I would start by checking the fuel pump relay first and if that's ok, move on to checking the pump.

Appreciate your time. Would a relay work intermittently aswell?

Problem solved! Replaced fuel pump. Truck died a day later. I got underneath the truck and Grabbed onto the fuel pump control module to unplug it and the thing fell apart from the inside out. Cooling gel started pouring out. I don’t even know how that thing was working… got a second hand one from a scrap yard and she now purrs like a kitten. So to anyone out there with a fuel issue P0230 code. Give that fuel pump control module a good shake. Will update a few pictures of how it fell apart later! Hope this helps someone.

    When you get a chance....

Pull the filter off. Take it to the sink and wash it off with warm water and soap. Try to get most of the oil out of it.

The oil in the filters is excessive when they come from the factory and love to coat the MAF sensor which begins collecting more dirt. It will kill the sensor. Use half a can of CR cleaner on the MAF if you haven't done it lately. Take a pic of it now so you can check on it next oil change and see how it's doing.

The reusable filters are killing MAFs.
