2001 Tundra vibrating while stopped in drive and low speeds. Once im over 20-30 mph the shaking goes away and back to smooth sailing. Doesnt vibrate in neutral or park, starts in a few seconds when put in gear (D,R,2,L). Popped the hood when first noticed it, noticeable difference in engine vibration when switching from park to drive. Any and all opinions welcome

Please, post more details. Is it 2WD or 4WD, since that matters? V8 or V6, since different platforms may have different issues.

Make sure you observe operating temperature while checking trans fluid, i.e. for hot or for cold.

Have you done anything to verify the driveline, verify the u-joints aren't loose, check the carrier bearing, etc.? Anything to test the wheels/tie rods/upper & lower balljoints, wheel bearings?

If 4WD, when was the last time the drivetrain was greased at all the zerks?

Hey guys, checking back in after getting this issue diagnosed and squared away. Thanks for all responses and tips! For anyone possibly having a similar issue in the future, I got it down to it being a broken motor mount. Replaced both side motor mounts and the rear one between engine and trans, vibrations disappeared like they werent even there in the first place. If this happens to one of you, i recommend replacing all mounts instead of just the one that broke, since theyre old and bound to go out eventually if one ran its’ course.

Huh, I wonder if maybe it's mor common with V6 than V8? I can't remember the last time I read someone dealing with a broken motor mount.

    Imma keep it stock
310k on my 5VZ, all original mounts. Trans mount even looked good when I pulled it for the rear main. :notsure:
