Oh yeah! Once the shifting is dialed and PE it's even better. It's a blast and you will enjoy it even more.

Which AFE intake filter were you using with that Prospeed intake? I want to change that K&N they send.

I have to say the transition from the 5 in intake to the 103mm TB and to the Whipple looks great and in proportion.

Haha. I had some lights from last year. Thought I would run wire for switched relays. I was delayed by the incident with my thumb...wanted it out of the way until I could get the loom installed. Didn't think think things were so difficult without it.
Thought it looked a mess. Things you post when up too late.

I was running Amsoil until a Blackstone report of Costco syn was posted that was better than my Amsoil. Have not done the change as I saw it shortly after new oil went in but I have 20 quarts of Kirkland.

When has anyone ever said, my engine blew up because I used x brand of oil? I have always ran whatever is on sale at Wally World. Penzoil, Castrol, Mobil, etc. I have ran them through SC engines, N2O engines, Heads/Cam engines. Hell, my GM 5.7 EFI in my boat only knows idle or 3500-4500 rpms and it uses syn-blend Merc oil, going on 800 hours. That I know of, no oil manuf has done a long term study to constitute the price of their oil and they won't. Matter of fact, I just did an oil change before the SC instal a week ago and a friend gave me 6qts of Royal purple 10-40 and I put another 2.5 of Castrol 5-30. Actually sounds better with the 40, so I will switch to 40.

My Hilux gets whatever random oil has been left on the shelf for years, and as you said it only sees cold starting and rev limiter  I would agree, any modern oil is probably more than enough for all but the sexiest of engines. Course I still buy Amsoil soooo :D

I believe in maintenance. To me that's number 1 priority, along with not abusing it at every stop sign. No oil can protect against abuse and lack of maintenance. I do 5k oil changes, I will probably now switch to 3-4k with the SC installed.

I came across this oil viscosity recommendation chart a while back provided by Driven Racing oil. I'm curious if anybody knows the main and rod bearing clearances on the 5.7 motor. What do you guys think about the recommendations based off the chart?

Personally, I've upped the viscosity as most folks I've spoken with about it recommend stepping up a weight. But I know that oil "protection" is a fickle beast of which oil viscosity and additive package are a part. Laboratory testing by Lake Speed Jr. shows the viscosity being the contributing factor on a sliding piston ring and wall since that is where hydrodynamic lubrication can take place, whereas the additive package is the contributing factor when the piston reaches the top and bottom of the stroke. Anyways, what are your thoughts on the validity of this chart? I'm surprised most oil viscosity recommendations fall in to one of two categories: do what the MFG says, and anecdotal evidence. This is the first easily understandable chart I've seen to establish a proper oil viscosity.
