    Too many mods to come
LS103mm throttle body and larger 5” intake tube are in. Massive difference over the rcf I had. Looking forward to getting it tuned soon.

    Good Morning everyone
I have not been feeling the best but I am here

I have some news that may help a few people. I used tackform phone mounts for the longest and I like them but I got a DMM DASH mount from the taco garage. The problem I ran into was everyone used their own size balls so not many were interchangeable. I had saw on of the users on here put a radar detector on their dash using a dash mount and some other components and I was like man that’s a great idea because I don’t want anything stuck to my windshield because of the ceramic tint.

well here’s the good news. Amazon sells Fanaue brackets for 1” balls and they have a mount that works too. So if your running a 1” ball you can use the one stop shop on amazon. I am not sure if the tackform bracket but I think they are 17mm which irritates me even further because some manufacturers are 20mm and 19mm so it’s just bananas. I will post pictures up later but it has all finally come together for me after MUCH trail and error. I should also add there is one double ball that is 1” on one side and whatever tackform is on the other side that you can get off amazon but it took me many purchases and returns
    be well everyone.

Tearing into the dash tomorrow. Air is only blowing through the defrost vents and I'm hearing a loud click/pop on startup behind the lower center dash (HVAC controls) area

Sounds like it could be a stuck blend door or bad blend door motor. My 2 cents.

I have a problem with the air circulation button making a loud popping/clicking sound. When I press it, I can hear the door or whatever it is trying to move (either open or close) and pop pop pop pop. Have to press the button again for it to stop. Strangely, it only randomly happens in the winter when its very cold out. Not really wanting/looking forward to tearing the dash apart to fix it.

Ya I'll have to pull out a few things to take a look. I have to drive the truck so if there is a bad part, I'll have to re-pull everything to install

It's PITA for sure. I've never pulled the dash on the Tundra, but I've done 2 heater cores on XJs. It's a nightmare the first time.

Not my pic, but this is what that job looks like.

    upload_2024-5-3_8-6-32.png

Check out NitroZ18 Fishing's channel on YouTube. He has video showing pretty much the full dash disassembly: https://youtu.be/xu1C1AapaAI?si=V6I7i_vg2x5j5yHr

He has since moved onto a 3rd Gen, but he still has all of his content up from his 2nd Gen. He's also a member of the forum:@2020Platinum. The video might be helpful.

Had to pull the dash on a 4runner to replace the heater core and it was a nightmare. I can't imagine it's any easier on a tundra.

The problem is, I don't know exactly what is broken. So it's going to have to get pulled twice

FWIW Autozone and O'Reilly's both have same day delivery for DIYers now. Used to be they'd only do same day delivery to shop customers. I see you're in Reading, PA. Might be an option so you don't have to disassemble/reassemble multiple times.

Hauled away a 16’ cattle panel today. I had three of them in my bed like this, but the wife decided we could only use two.
    IMG_4608.jpg
This is the short bed solution to long items. Just haul them vertically and/or fold them in half :notsure:

    Yes Sir.
I really like your idea and I did get those flat pieces you got but I returned them and I went went the Fanaue ones because they are smaller in comparison.

Thank you for sharing your idea. I was late finding it but glad i did!
I’m not sure if I will get a radar detector now but this opens so many other possibilities

yea I’d say it’s worth it. Can feel the difference in throttle response/ acceleration.
Can only imagine how much more different it feels on the even larger TB’s.

Been a busy few weeks, finally got around to adding some small mods.

    1. Grip tape door sill protectors. Followed this write-up. $10 for two sheets from a local skateshop. Able to get three 3" strips from one sheet.
    2. The handy chalk bag water bottle holder, seen here. Used the same brand from Etsy, StaticClimbing. The owner recommended various mods and I chose nylon liner, smaller loops and patch on back. Lots of cool colors but I went with the waxed canvas in "Bone" which is a decent match for my beige leather.
    3. Hopefully the first of many mileage milestone stickers free from Toyota. Not sure where I'm going to put it yet.
    4. Painted my wheel caps and got them installed. Not perfect but can't really tell. Painted one screw gold just cuz.
    5. Fell deep into the bed cover rabbit hole, and after too much debate I settled on a rolling soft top for now. This Tyger T1 soft roll-up had decent reviews, free shipping and a 20% off coupon if you sign up for their newsletter. Went on really easy, I like the quality of the parts, except the foam weatherstripping it came with was pinched and has a couple spots where water could leak in. But it made it to Dallas, and of course Buc-ee's, through rain and our stuff in the bed was dry.
    6. Not sure what I'd call this. Permanent crab-walk? I thought the truck was moonwalking off the highway.
