i came across a discussion about puddle lights for GM style tow mirrors. their were diagrams and mention of a pink wire for the cargo light switch. unfortunately im unable to figure out where this is located under the drivers side dash. a actual picture or even a video would help a great deal. thanks lucy

So use both wires on the drivers foot light? For both wires coming from mirror lights?

One pink wire should work. You'll be tapping the same circuit as the rear bed light. Pull the driver side threshold/rocker trim and pull the wire loom open. You'll see a couple of pink candidate wires. I used a positap, and got lucky on the first try.

Fun fact this is my truck that was used on this video. A bout 3 maybe 4 years ago someone posted here that boost auto was looking for a truck in the area to do a how to video and they would give you the mirrors for free. Took a shot, emailed them and dropped my truck off a few days later. Power mirrors for free! I did get a tour of their facility and a few other goodies. Unfortunately I have no way to prove it since they took my plate off for the video….but it’s my truck lol

Should be a brown wire that goes directly to the cargo light in that threshold.

    But I agree with @RobertD
That footwell light will come on when you unlock the doors and time out when you close the door.
It also dims on and off..

I used it for my puddle lights..

I appreciate all of the help, but my puddle lights stay on constantly when I tie in to the foot well light, and will not shut off for any reason. I looked for the brown wire, running in the door seal. And I believe their is at least two if not three brown wires there. I am definitely hesitant to start tapping into each wire, especially the real small ones and possibly fail. I really need some help. I’ve also watched the video which brings up why and or what are the blue wires for and what’s up with the white wires getting hooked up on the passenger side Trying to figure this out.

Getting frustrated I have tried everything mentioned above nothing is working tried the food well lights they go off, but the puddle lights stay on. And not sure which brown wire in door sill to use. Also watched video sure why but wires were getting hooked up to the fuse and the white wires are in and connected to a connection on passenger side

    Do you have bed lights?

When I installed OEM bed lights in my 2014 I used these OEM instructions.
It tells you where to find the leads you need under the dash to tap into the cargo lights for the bed lights.
Page 7 but I would look thru the entire thing to get familiar with it.
It is actually where the brown wire begins.

If needed I can get under there maybe tomorrow and take some pics if you want..

I've since replaced the crappy OEM lights with better lights, but I used the same wiring..
