Hey guys, this frame looks pretty good from these three photos. Can anybody tell for sure from the looks of it? Thanks in advance.

Missing a lot of info for us to be able to know this. Your best bet would be to enter the VIN on Toyota's website. It will give you that info.

The transition of bed floor support to fastener rust in the 1st pic makes it look like the frame is probably the same age as the bed. Frame looks about like a Colorado truck, or what I'd see out of the Carolinas.

But the way to tell if it was replace is how Tennessee just told you.

Does it matter? All that should matter is whether it’s in great shape or not.

I entered it into the Toyota website but it says there are no service records.

I don't mind looking at frames, but how about creating just 1 thread for all instead of one every time you look at a truck. This frame is the best looking one you have put up so far. Looks in similar condition to mine which has never been replaced.

The frame on my 2011 that I purchased from someone who brought it to NJ from Utah looked just like that.

Some dried up mud on exhaust and absolutely no rust.

For the most part it looks fine. Are there holes/paint bubbling in the bed under the liner? You don’t want to pay top dollar for that.

Sounds like you got a winner, but unless it's a 2000, it should at least have service records for lower balljoints. And it should also have a recall fulfilled for the airbags.

A couple people have been complaining the Toyota Owners website hasn't been working right the last couple days. You can possibly call up a dealership and ask them to look up the service records for you.

But from a distance that frame looks great. You can also go to Carfax and run a report, it may have recall and service records, and it should show you yearly registration renewals since inception, so you can see what states the truck lived in.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sorry about the post for each truck I look at. I'll have a dealership look it up for me. Thanks for the idea.

Don't be sorry, I don't think anyone is mad. Keep it coming, helps us all see what's out there, and gives everyone else ideas of what to watch out for.

Yup, frame got replaced in 2014, and they did the LBJ recall at the same time. So now you know why it looks so clean :D

You may find other things that aren't so clean; they typically didn't replace the rear axle/diff housing, backing plates for the brakes, sway bar and other stuff. So those would be the items to look at next. Nice to see they replaced the LCAs and probably the cam bolts and sleeves.

DLR stands for DEALER, I assume. FRM REPLACE DLR = "Frame replace by dealer", my best guess.
