My rear door on my (not very old) Leer cap is very weak to open, way worse in the cold. When they do eventually open (or I open the door myself) they hold open just fine.

Do the shocks need replaced or can they be lubricated? In my past trucks I've replaced them when they stopped holding the door open. But not when they are slow to open.

    Thanks

Sounds like they need replaced, that's what mine did... way worse when cold.

New struts are much cheaper than they used to be. If I remember correctly I bought a pair but ended up only doing one side 'cuz it shot up so fast.

    My pleasure!

Should have #'s on your existing struts to tell how many lbs. of lift they have.

I got a set for my jerico from Amazon for cheap. They listed them for ARE and /or Leer.
    I have a cab high.
I think they are pretty universal

Yep, just the length of the stroke and lbs. of lift. (and how they mount of course)
