Okay go to toyota usa website and build that exact same truck with the base price being $2k more than what you are spouting as I said could be inflation but the toyota website build site is $2k more. Actually why are you the one defending this aren't you the guy who said you could have bought this truck 5% below msrp but didn't?

Spouting? So far I have presented facts and here's another one. This is a screenshot from the Toyota website itself. Same base MSRP of $56,905. I have no idea where you're getting 2k more. You have yet to provide proof. And no, I did not say 5% below MSRP; I said $500 below invoice. We're trying to save a new buyer some cash right? Why would we want him to pay 2k more?

I really do not want to go through the process of cutting and pasting it but the limited without the TRD OR package is $58900, I would imagine when you add the TRD pack to the truck you are probably getting credit for the limited wheels, tires and shocks thus reducing the MSRP down to 56900. I could care less if the buyer buys this truck, they sell themselves and are everywhere in the southern states especially being made in Texas. Deals are out there on in stock units, however for some reason the discounts are not everywhere and the TRD OR packed trucks seem to bring more money in my market. Maybe when 5-10 years have passed from their introduction more of this forum will have adopted them and there would be less vitriol from the previous generation owners.

Oh I see now. I'm from California and I have a 2nd Gen lol. All I did was try to help out a fellow Tundra buyer\owner. As as far as my experience is concerned, I had a Limited TRD OR Hybrid worked out for $63,519 a month ago, but I decided to wait. My 2017 has only 62k miles and it's worry free so I'm going to wait longer. Nothing against the 3rd gen from me.

Is that a 23? For if you had an actual $76+k truck for $63519 out the door and didn't buy it for at least the possibility to flip it for a good 7-8k then I am calling BS on your story. That is a base limited with the lowest trd package without roof. My 23 stickered for low $69s in Feb of 23 so I know they are $7-8k higher now. The most I am seeing around here are 5-7k off MSRP currently.

I’m in Florida and am getting dealers about 3k off.

I’m also working with a dealer in the Midwest that is offering Trd limited hybrid with off-road package for $59k plus tax.

The almost $2k discrepancy is the delivery charge which other car sites also don't always include. It's separated out on the build summary and window sticker, but Toyota's website builder adds it in automatically to the build price up at the top of the page along with the all the other options selected.

Pay attention to the details. Nobody said anything about OTD. OTD is not the same as MSRP or invoice. OTD is irrelevant because it is different for everyone depending on the state they live in (tax and license not negotiable). The MSRP on the limited hybrid was $69,237. They brought it down to $63,519, so no BS. This was in early March for a 2024. This is a picture of the truck. IMG_0150.jpg

Now that’s a really good deal. That’s a few thousand below invoice.

I hit up a few more dealers today, 3k off MRSP is the best I've got. A lot of these dealers want me to come in to negotiate, annoying. Anyway, probably stay in the Tacoma for a while until the right deal comes.

Here is a guy that recorded his negotiation for a new car at a Toyota dealership for what they called a high demand car. Yes I am such a car buying geek that I listened to the whole thing. The dealership especially the "floor manager" play every game in the book but the guy got nearly what he wanted. Good job by being honest. It just proves you can get significant discounts by sticking to the facts and not falling for the BS and not getting mad about and leaving, which I usually do. LOL

It is long but worth it to see how it played out....

Always talk to us about the out the door price before taxes and name any fees the dealer adds or say no fees. Otherwise we don't know if it is a good deal

Better yet, take a picture of the break down of the pricing part of the paperwork and post it.

Florida dealers add so many fees and clubs charges to the out the door and folks don't mention that.

That could make sense then if they dropped the base MSRP for the hybrid. I am guessing government incentives or something is making up the difference.

I paid $59,760.90 out the door for a Tundra SR5 4x4 (including all the fees) in July 2023. How good or bad is this deal compared to what you'll had?

glad to hear it. Won’t be so good when I factor in flight to MO and $1,500 to ship the truck back.

    lunar rock limited
    TRD off-road
    Power package

no BS add ons like the FL dealers include (toyoguard, dealer warranties, paint protection, etc)

$8,000 off all trims limited and above
    $1,000 Toyota cash discount

Gets me to $59,xxx plus tax.

Any word on whether Toyota is keeping the incentives? The last one expired yesterday April 29 but Toyota still has it posted on their shopping tools.

SoCalTundy, I agree with you we post here to help others and when it comes to getting a good deal on any vehicle knowledge is power. My advice to anyone looking to buy is:
    • Be patient but be ready to buy when dealers need to make quotas
    • Know what dealers in your Toyota sales regions typically do (Gulf States, SE region have lots of addons)
    • Use pricing forums, Edmunds or other pricing tools to help determine market conditions
    • Don't go to a dealership and sit there all day when you can get a lot of negotiations done online.
    • Once you narrow down pricing at a couple dealerships tell them you have multiple offers and set a deadline for them to offer their best price to get the deal done.

I have posted this already but here's my pricing breakdown:

14.4% below MSRP (including dealer admin fee)

    2024 Tundra Limited 4x4 TRD Off-Road
    Window Sticker:
    Base 56,905.00
EJ - JBL Premium Audio 565.00
    OF - TRD Off-Road Package 3,580.00
    SR - Panoramic Roof 1,350.00
WS - Heated Steering Wheel 150.00
    2T - All Weather Floor Liners 179.00
    LB - Spray-on Bed Liner 599.00

    MSRP 63,328.00
    DELIVERY FEE 1,850.00

    Total Suggested Retail Price 65,178.00

    My price before TTL 55,178.00

Dealer admin fee 571.00 (I would normally fight the admin fee but with the fee I was at 14.4% below MSRP!!)
    Sale price 55,749.00
    TTL 3,791.88

Total out the door with TTL 59,540.88

I just priced my 2023 truck out on the toyotas website for the same truck I have, I do find it funny that you can no longer combine the trd insert package with the tail gate black inlay package. It appears it is only a $1500 ish increase. ($71850 VS $69249) I paid msrp which was definitely inflated but timed the market for the sale of my old truck and had a great down payment. I do find it weird that most dealers 24 limited hybrids with trd offroad options are $76-78k which makes me wonder if they are adding ton of dealer options?

Anything over a 1k per month for a truck payment is just crazy. The times of great used car prices and low new car prices are over. I also notice that the discounts are not as huge on the trd offroad packed trucks in my state as they are for regular limited or even platinum packaged trd or trucks. I think that is funny since I would really like to have HUD and rear seats heated/ cooled.

As far as the rest, I don't put in offers to dealers. I ask that dealer for their best price and if I don't like it I won't buy it. Lots of dealers in California and Florida have doc fees that are ridiculous. Luckily most mid south or southern states limit them to set amounts.

    This is very helpful, thanks!

I just throw up a little when I see that $1,000+ payment. That's the market today though. Likely why many dealers are having their high priced vehicles stacking up on the lots and discounts can be had.

Yea $1100 car payments are no bueno. I sold my paid off car in a private sale so I should have this truck paid off in a year or less.

How are you getting $76-78K for a limited hybrid Tundra? Is that MSRP or after taxes and fees? I have not seen that in my area. That is really overpriced.

I just lost my 2021 Limited due to some careless driver, just makes me sick thinking it's going to cost me $70k to replace it. I looked at 2 limited models, one with the 6.5ft bed was $71K!

    Just starting
Looking at some of these numbers, I'm thinking I got a pretty good deal. 2024 Tundra SR5 Double Cab Std Bed (6.5'), Total DSRP = $57,089, got it for $49,089 (+TTL), $8k off. On top of that, they gave me $5K more than I wanted (and $7k more than the last offer) on my trade in.

That being said, I was looking for a Tacoma but they were few and far between and they wanted more than MSRP for those. One dealer even told me that "they were taking bids" on the one they had. Guess this last dealer was looking to get the Tundra off the lot.

You live in Arizona. There should be quite a few garage queen used 2021s in your area for quite a bit less than new. So many folks had to get the new one and traded in their never off roaded cream puffs.

Heck, since Toyota didn't change much over the years in the 2.5 Gen I bet you could go back a few years and find them with not that many miles on them.

I got this 2018 with only 32,500 miles on it and great car fax recorded service on it. Lots of retirees in FL and Arizona that take incredible care of them but don't drive much. Good luck.

Never mind, that was a few months back. It is hard to keep up the more Toyota makes the cheaper these get. They are at MSRPs of $71-$72k with most selling at discounts in the mid to low $60s. That was a Platinum TRD OR truck which is now priced at $76ish but they have even a larger discount on them. I should have waited now but then again I doubt I would have gotten $54k for my used Raptor with 50k plus miles which gave me a huge down payment on the Tundra. I guess it all evens out, but I would imagine the prices of used trucks have fallen if huge discounts are in the new vehicle segments now. Hopefully the MSRP days are long gone for good.
