I've removed the motor and I'm shopping for repair/replace options. In the mean time, i'd like to open the roof manually, so i can clean the drain lines. Can I simply manhandle it to tilt and then forcibly make it slide open? If I do, will I be able to force it closed again? I just bought this truck and the sunroof may not have been used for years. if i park it on a slope with the front end higher, it doesn't leak, so i suspect the front drains are clogged. $549 for a replacement motor doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in. Just need to manually open it once a year to clean the drain lines. anyone know the procedure for manually opening and closing this thing?

One can always silicone the leak path for a few dollars.

I haven't given up hope of making the sunroof functional again, down the road. I appreciate the suggestion, but hoping for an answer to my question. Can I manually open and close the sunroof with the motor removed.

With the motor removed, you should be able to manually open and close the roof. Just push it open.

The last thing the sunroof does when closing is pop up in the back to seal. I’d need to push down the back to get it to the slide track. My concern is there’s a lever somewhere in the picture that might not like that much force.

Should be able to unscrew the the glass from the track from the inside, then lift the glass up and out

Thanks, that's the way I'm leaning. I stopped by the service dept and asked about forcing the sunroof open in it's current lifted position and he also believed forcing the glass down onto the track in order to slide it might break something.
