Must be a SoCal thing as those are my favorites too. I must add Stone in that mix though. Ballast Point Sculpin is my favorite, but getting so damn expensive. Arrogant Bastard use to be our pre-flight before going to Padre Games back in the day when we were all "young".

Don’t you think Stone’s quality suffered when they were bought out? Don’t get me wrong I still visit their local breweries often and enjoy their seasonal brews, but I’m not that huge of a fan of their normal stuff. They used to be a staple in my fridge like 10 years ago.

Yeah, once they were bought out, it seemed that they had to mass produce much faster and the quality of the beer dropped. I agree with you on the seasonal brews being much better. Every now and then I still get the variety pack from Costco especially when they introduce a new one or one that is not normally sold outside of the local breweries.

Grew up in PA, and drank that all the time, sadly, can't get in in Ca. Sure wish we could.

Never been a fan of IPAs or fruity beers, I used to have an occasional Arrogant Bastard years ago but it just doesn't appeal to me anymore.
Used to drink stuff like La Fin Du Monde and Chimay, but not in years.
Drank can Shiner for years but now I pretty much stick with Mexican beers.

My favorite is Modelo Especial in a 24 oz can, sometimes Negra Modelo.
Can, bottle, whatever, usually with Twang lime beer salt..

    [IMG][IMG]

And occasional Grolsch, or draft Guinness in the cooler weather..

Wife likes the ultra Gold with a green olive in it, but she is more of a red wine drinker..

Was recently in Florida and the Ying Li g lager is the only thing close to what a beer from Canada tastes like.
Every beer I tried there seemed weird, which is my polite way of saying gross.

I pretty much only drink IPAs and the occasional Belgian or Belgian-style strong ale (dubbel, trippel, quadruppel).

Been sober coming up on a decade now. But I enjoy a nice NA quite often.takes me a few hours to finish one though. Sam Adam’s hazy IPA, trail pass IPA, lagunitas, summit nialas are my go toos.

Blue Moon is usually a go to for the both of us, but the lady and I both like a variety of beers with the exception of anything too fruity/flowery to the point of drinking vase water.

I initially started with Belgian beers. Tripels, Quads, etc. Been on the IPA chase for well over 15 years now, and I'm kind of done with it. I'll still order a "new" one that I haven't tried yet or if it's the re-release of a classic from one of our local breweries when we go out, but that's about it. Being where I am, it's pretty much the epicenter for the IPA world (obviously the New England style), and the over-used and often inaccurate "hazy" style; Yes I know California has Russian River and Monkish, but every town here that has more than just chain restaurants in it has 5 monkish and Russian rivers. We're spoiled. So, much like a spoiled brat, I've seen the beginnings of the haze craze (which might still be "beginning" where you are) and I'm over it. Done the stout and sour and .... pretty much every style.

PBR is pretty much all I drink for beer now. Some bourbon Sept - May, and gin & tonics when the weather warms up.

What a great thread. I prefer stouts (Like Terminator from McMenemins), but also enjoy a good lager or pilsner like pFriem. Oregon has more micro breweries than just about anywhere so there's easily something for everyone.

Now you did it- someone out there is going to make a beer called vase water
Seriously though, some of these small breweries have some ridiculous names lately.
There is a great brewery near me (RI) called Proclamation Ale. They make one called Tendril that is really tasty.

Oh yes, it's good, lots of great choices.
Not the biggest Tecate fan, but if it's what the all-inclusive resort has I'm drinking it..

Some good latin American beers as well.
I'll drink almost any lager or pilsner, just not a big fan of mass-produced American beers, except Shiner Bock..

There is a local Deep Ellum brewery here.
I like Dallas Blonde and Neato Bandito.

Cold Miller Lite is my rock.

That said, the fridge is packed with craft brews, mostly IPAs with some Porters thrown in for good measure. I like beer, so I don't know that I have a favorite, unless we're discussing discontinued brews, at which point I'd have to say Lost Nation Mosaic is hands down the best beer I've ever had, and sadly, they haven't sold or found a new brewer, so no more beer. :( So, for me, finding anything with Mosaic hops is almost always top of my list.

Tree House is only about 45 minutes away, but I don't tend to enjoy their beers much due to high content and extremely heavy. They have started offering much more in the 5-6.5% range, though. Prohibition Pig in VT (I like their Daily Dolly) is great, as is Hill Farmstead, also in VT (Mosaic and Memoria are great). I still also love me a Sip of Sunshine by Lawson's, but like Heady Topper by The Alchemist, standards have changed and what used to be "fantastic" is now just "good". It's cool but sad at the same time.

Anyways, thanks for sharing your faves! I'll keep an eye out for some of these.
