    Hi guys,

Do you know what these cables are for? Neither is in use; the black has a cover on it and the white is open. These are on the rear by the towing cables.

Do you have a factory backup camera, or bumper proximity sensors? Those two would be my first guesses.

Kinda hard to see the wiring colors.

The black might be for bumper sensors if you don't have them.
But there would be more of them.

Anything for the backup camera would be a shielded wire.

When I retrofit a factory backup camera to my truck, I do recall that the connector had a cover. However, I don't remember what color the connector was...

I don’t and never have had either of those things installed; I bought the truck in 2018 so maybe a previous owner did?

I wondered if one could be used for a backup camera and that would save me some work.

Toyotas are prewired for some of the features that come on the higher trim levels or trim packages.

This is the circuit for the camera from the tailgate to the HU.
You could pull the inside panel off your tailgate and see if the X1 connector is in there.
As well if it was, you'd see the wiring at the bottom of the tailgate going under the bed.

That white one might be it..
But I can't see the wire colors in your pic.
X1 would connect to the camera in the tailgate.
XR1 would be where it connects under the bed close to the tailgate.
