Still have water. The current leak is just in one of the slab hot lines and not huge, so I'm just shutting the inlet valve at the water heater and leaving it turned on (electric), then I open the valve for things like showers and laundry (we consolidate chores for an hour of so). Plumber said Monday will be finishing new shut offs and supplies at each fixture, and Tuesday will be water shut off, new main supply, and new water heater install. After that it's testing and then drywall.

It's an interior wall and It is construction that the plumber said he sees in older (1978) brick homes. The interior walls are 24" on center, then they add a 2x4 on its flat side. According to him (no clue if it's true) that way they don't have to weaken the main 2x4 too much to run larger pipes and instead run through the flat 2x4. probably BS, but I do see it in most walls with vent pipes.

That's wild, never seen anything like that in my construction days. A 2x6 wall seems easier

Yep, a 2x6 or just go 16" on center for more support. Who knows and the explanation is probably BS, but that's the way the house is. Actually, the home was built by a local semi-custom/higher quality builder and many of the standard slump block home of the era weren't even drywalled. This one has the "extra" for the time features of drywall, dual cooling with AC and intake ducts in the slab, a garage vs carport, and a bonus of R22 insulation in the roof as opposed to less to none as was typical. Weird building back in the day in AZ.

Naps are pretty scientific, too little time and you don't really feel less tired, too long and you feel worse afterward. My magic Geezer number is 45 minutes. :anonymous:

Naps make me feel like shit no matter how long they are. I'd rather just go to bed early, even if it's super early.

I have to agree, very rarely do I actually feel like a nap did me some good. Best case scenario I feel better but then I can't fall asleep till way late at night so my sleep schedule gets messed up and worst case scenario I wake up feeling like 2 lb of shit in a 1 lb bag.

Compared to Seattle it sure is! I think my town has 8,000 people? Which obviously isn't tiny by any means but driving anywhere in town even at the busiest times is a breeze and driving for 15 to 30 minutes can get me in the woods with no one for miles around and for another extra 15 minutes or so you can find some big woods that one could disappear in

I can't take naps, no matter how tired.
And I usually sleep like shit at night. Once in a while I'll get home from work and might doze off for a minute in the chair, but my neck will wake me up. I'll think, oh good, I'm tired enough for a nap,....but the second I lay down, I'm wide awake again.
    I don't get it.

I avoid big cities at all costs. My one exception is Milwaukee so I can go to Brewers games but then I dip out as fast as I can afterwards.

I really want to live in a world without naps, not sure why I need them all of a sudden, but I do.
