I have a 2023 Tundra Limited (non-hybrid) and a Vantrue N4 that is tapped into the OEM camera 5-pin under the headliner. Because the N4 uses a capacitor vs a battery, it seems very sensitive to voltage changes and will restart when my voltage dips below 12v. Up until I installed this camera, I didn’t realize how often and how much lower than 12v my voltage meter would read (I assumed it would dip during auto stop/start, but it seems to fluctuate while driving as well).

Anyone else notice this and/or have a solve for maintaining a more consistent voltage from the 5-pin?

    Thanks in advance.

Same happened with my Viofo cam using the headliner tap but mine only rebooted upon auto restarts. I swapped mine over to switched and unswitched hardwires from the passenger side fuse box (behind the glove box) using fuse taps. This was very easy.

No issues using my rexing cam via oem cam harness.

Thanks for the reply. Did that on my 2007 Tacoma. Trying to avoid running cables down the A pillar (I assume there are side curtain airbags in that area).

Looks like the Rexing Cam has an internal battery… might have to switch cams or run cable to the fuse box…

A-pillar covers are trivial to remove and replace.
