Ok, men. My daughter was in tears this evening. Why? Because she didn’t get her bf a tie to match her dress for prom? Does anyone have a tie that would match this dress that I can show her? I will gladly pay shipping to get the tie here before this weekend to borrow or purchase from you

A dark gray or dark blue should match well, better go shopping!

Actually, she should have her man make a bold statement and go w/a gold tie; if you look at 'sparkles' of the dress there's a few gold ones mixed in there. The gold tie would not only stand out, but it would highlight the few gold flakes in the dress; more importantly though, the heavy contrast of the tie would allow her and the dress to be the star and highlight of the couple.... Something less 'contrasting' would be in competition and would distract from the dress... :hattip:

Take that dress to your nearest bargain suit establishment and have their fashion coordinator find a match. They only have 1k options and it's not worth spending big money at a finer establishment, not for a high school kid that isn't yours.

I think I only own one tie, and it's a back one. Easily found anywhere. Sorry, I'm just not that classy.

That’s the plan. I’ll take her when she’s done with school, if she wants me to take her, and convince her to ditch cheer.

    That’s a great idea actually!

Thank u sir. I will send this link to her too!

I'm usually too groggy to think that clearly. I just start moving, and then whatever joint/body part is the issue of the day will rudely remind me that I'm old and fat with a sudden stab of pain. Then I slow down. LOL

I’ve been fighting this knee issue for several months. While I seem to be finding ways to work around it so I can keep training, it’s def bothersome for a few days post training. Everything I can find online says it’s a meniscus tear. Eventually I’ll make an appt and go in for it. For now, I’m trying to get my shoulder to heal and work around it

Feet and ankles. RA sucks. Once warmed up everything is fine. After 20 minutes of sitting, gotta warm up all over again. Try to motivate myself to take a trailer full of yard waste I loaded yesterday to the dump. Don’t want to but it’s gotta be done.

With these guys with their more serious back problems, I'm glad mine isn't worse; but I'm in PT right now because I pulled a muscle in my back really seriously a couple of months ago - enough to keep me in bed a few days. I sit at a computer all day, and after years of that a body gets used to that position and doesn't really want to work in a normal human body manner anymore. Add to that a weak core and I have zero mobility. All a good recipe for tossing my back into a knot. I thought I was doing a good thing jumping back into the gym, but I wasn't stretching or doing enough to strengthen my core, so knots it is. I know I have compressed discs, but no impingements on nerves, so they didn't take any pictures this go 'round. Unless I have pain or numbness in my extremities the prescription would be the same anyway - strengthen the core, gain flexibility, quit deluding myself into thinking I'm still in my 30's. Good luck to those of you farther down the road with deterioration...

All signs pointed to a meniscus tear for me too. You know what it wound up being? My damn posture. I tend to stand with my toes pointing out a little bit, and when I drive I would just pivot my foot on my heel to go from gas to brake. Well, that put a bunch of slack in the IT Band (I don't remember the actual full medical name of it) and it was tightening up and pulling my knee cap to the side. Patellar Tracking Disorder as a result. Got the IT band worked my a massage therapist and then made sure I kept my toes straight forward between my shoulders and I've not had much knee pain since. I can tell when I get lazy with my posture, because I start to feel it and have to correct my posture again.

I know you're likely aware, but leaving the edges of a meniscus tear frayed can enable deeper tearing. Get it squared off and cleaned out.

You have a weak pelvic bowl, I had the same thing from driving 6+ hours a day, which lead to back issues from not having core strength like you said. I’ve got a bro in law that used to do physical therapy for MMA fighters, so when he gives messages he gets in there deep! I usually see him every 6 months or so after I’ve lifted something stupid in the morning and felt a pull/pop

When I wore ties I used to buy them at Ross. Brand names can be found on the cheap and they actually used to have a lot of selections and colors to choose from. A few years back I got rid of probably 20 or so ties and 8 suits other wise I'd send you the whole lot. Good luck, these teen daughter moments are clutch for you to be there to help her through the struggle. Is prom this weekend?

Best place to start is stretching. Things you wouldn't expect to cause back problems have tons to do with back problems. I can't sit on my heels because my thighs are too tight. I can barely touch my knees with my legs straight (everyone on the planet should be able to touch their toes with their legs straight - I mean, as long as they have toes). Hip mobility depends on leg mobility, and proper back movement depends on hip mobility... The long and short of mobility is it's an all or nothing situation. I'm working on it, and getting better; but I have a long way to go. Next up are core exercises. Planks are awesome for someone who has an underdeveloped core. There's a ton of traditional PT training on mobility and core strengthening on YT, along with plenty of free pilates and yoga training. It's just getting motivated to get out of the chair and onto the floor that's preventing it.

I had neglected my general health for a long time, and it's not any fun getting back in shape. Tight muscles that are also weak are not a good condition to walk into my 60's with. My son is a personal trainer and used to be an exercise physiologist. He just snickers at me because it's not as much about finding the perfect thing to do as doing something, and he knows I'm not very motivated. But having to stay in bed because my back is in too much pain to move is pretty motivating.

Yup. I just have to find the motivation. I like sleep a lot, and so getting up earlier to squeeze it in before work is something I naturally rebel against. As a teacher once told me "nothing changes if nothing changes" so I just need to do it.

This definitely true where we live. Every landscaping contractor, or really anyone doing anything outside, wears hi-vis yellow or orange.
