I can relate to this and feel for you. Having a herniated disk my back gives me fits from time to time as well.

 

Any options for a fix, or is it not bad enough to warrant being invasive?

 

Yeah, my back has been an off & on issue for years now unfortunately.
I usually see the chiropractor a few times to get it right, but I'm thinking I've got a bulged disk this time

I visit my local chiropractor, Who is more than a regular chiropractor When I do throw my back out. He and I have also developed a strength training routine together that helps keep those visits to a minimum.

 

Well it's good that it can be handled without surgery.

 

Car accident when I was 18, not wearing a seatbelt thrown through back windshield, 3 fractured vertebrae, L2, L3, L6. Rehabbed and accepted into the Corps on waivers... Never had a problem until about 15 years ago, late 30's at the time and probably hungover. Woke up early and saw we had a 18" dump. Started shoveling right away before stretching so I could go play in the snow on vail mtn. Ended up herniating the disk and it was bulging. Gave me a Cortizone shot, and told me I need to keep my core strong my posture correct probably for the rest of my life. If I didn't do that I would've needed surgery to get it trimmed. I've been managing it since then, but from time to time a wrong movement will cause it to pinch again. It sure sucks but if I keep up on my end of training it seems be manageable.

Key is finding not just a crack doc, which seems like you might have. So many hackpractors out there. Daily stretching and planks are key. Give yourself 20 minutes every morning.

What were you doing that caused it to make you think it's bulging. If your in that kind of pain, the road may seem long but once I got a steroid injection it was amazing how quickly I bounced back.

Well, only women get to see my little one, particularly the one I married. So that should help narrow it down.
