I'm a cheap drunk, so my normal drink is Bulleit bourbon, Buffalo Trace, Tin Cup, or Jefferson's. If I'll be mixing, then Pendleton will do.

Got a unique pair of bottles today. I work at a Nuclear power plant here in Arizona and our electrical shop decided as a group (outside of work) to purchase a barrel of knob creek. We just got the bottles today and it’s amazing.

we ended up getting a total of 114 bottles. Everyone picked up 2. Some got a couple more. But roughly 50 people.

Distillery. Not trying to be a dick, but beer is brewed, spirits are distilled.

Single barrels are super nice, as each barrel has a distinct flavor and the labeling is always pretty cool.

Bought this at the end of the tour of the JD distillery in 1996... Since it's a dry county there was no taste testing at the end of the tour... But they could/did sell this commemorative bottle... Still have it with seal intact...

Seems absolutely worth it if you have ~50 people going in. So, on to the obvious question - should we get a Tundras.com barrel select going on?

Simple answer; yes. Long answer; who gets to do the tasting and chose the barrel?

this would be cool. The downside would be having to pay and ship out bottles to everyone.

on another note my friend gave me a unique bottle for my birthday this year. Never heard of them but hoping it’s good.

I got the call for a Blantons Straight from the barrel. It’s typically my favorite type of Blantons.

    see sig for mods.....
I LOVE the Blanton's Barrel Strength, though Gold is my favorite.

Lately, I have been on a Single Barrel Barrel Strength Kick......... The EC and Larceny Barrel Strength are fantastic. The EW 12 was a rare find, and I haven't opened, but the EC Toasted is the best of this bunch. I blew 6 months of my "bourbon budget" in 2 days with this recent take.

    IMG_20240316_160738210_HDR.jpg

One of the Benefits of being in KY is the proximity to the Distillerys. These are all Single Barrel and Barrel Strength and all are Unique and Fantastic. Peerless is a very interesting Bourbon. Evidently EVERY bottle of Peerless is Barrel Strength, and because they start with a sweet mash, they claim to not add water anywhere in the process. Still to Barrel, Barrel to Bottle. Their small batches are good, but the Single Barrels are GREAT, and each batch has a flavor name that truly matches what you taste. Fantastic Bottle and Topper as well. Worth the $$ for a special pour and bottle.

Rabbit Hole is Generally OK, but not worth the $$, but this SB BS is absolutely fantastic. Hard to save them for special occasions.

I'd be very interested to try that EW12.. I have had some EWSB and other EW rarities that have been quite nice.

I get calls for allocated bottles because of my purchase history. The higher your purchase history the more likely you get the hard to get bottles.

Funny thing is I found it 3 weeks into my whisky addiction. Almost passed it up because it was $55. Crazy to think about now.
