Yeah I've been to one when I visited family in Texas, and as nice as it is, it's still just a gas station that's another shrine to mass consumerism and only alluring if you're a simpleton of a person haha Basically Texas in a nutshell.

I mean it opened in berthoud for god sakes.

Looking for some info from some of you guys that live anywhere between Silverthorne and Wolcott. I got word that the Colorado river is clear to float. I was planning on launching from State Bridge late Saturday morning, but now see there is a mix of rain/snow Friday night. I'd need to take highway 131 from Wolcott to Bond to get to the launch.

What are conditions like for pulling a trailer up there right now? You think 131 will be clear enough to drive tomorrow?

We did get some snow last night, may a couple inches at my place in Silverthorne. Forecast for a bit more tonight. Looks like vail pass is getting snow from my view currently. It's hard to actually forecast these spring storms but if you have the time I'd say go for it. 131 was clear a few days ago before this last event.

yeah I get why they did it too. It's the why isn't back on yet for me? Is there downed lines we're not aware of that could potentially cause fires? Are they hesitant to turn it back on if so? That just sucks for all the people that have been without power for 2 days. That's a lot of food waste.

What kind of sliders are you installing? Some of those can suck real bad when you're doing them on your back.

I'd offer to help but I do t have a garage or some of the necessary tools. However, When I installed my shocks I rented shop space from some friends of mine who run a 4x4 group in eagle. All the tools I don't have are available for use in there. There has to be somewhere in the front range who offers similar services.

i don't mind buying tools and stuff. they're always useful to have. not being able to close my garage if work leaks overnight is my bigger concern

For sure man. Not having a garage is killing me. When I moved where I currently live we made some trade offs and loosing a garage was one of them. Im back in the shade tree as they say... Has anyone down there offering you any help yet? Assume you bought the 6112's with springs already on?

I installed my RCI skids in my garage, on my back on the floor using jack stands. I put the entire set of skids in about 2 hours in the AZ heat. What I did not install in my garage was the gas tank skid.

Even if you don’t finish which I am sure you can do it, move things and pull her back into the garage for the night.

EDIT: just seen a post there sliders too. I tried with a few jacks stands but was not working so I had them installed when the tank skid

we'll be moving eventually here soon and a bigger real 2-3 car garage is a must for vehicles and gym. but nah nothing yet.

    6112s with springs installed yes.

@azTony garage door can't even close with truck inside unfortunately

skids, sliders and bumper i think can be managed with a friend and getting a jack and stands/ramps and whatever wrenches/sockets might just take us a day or two haha. the suspension I have no experience with and that's what has me a little more concerned

Suspension is the same. Just turning wrenches. This day in age with YT videos available we have an endless resource. Honestly the hardest part of front suspension is installing the shock body into the spring and that's already done. It can feel overwhelming, but like most things in life the feeing of accomplishment once done is a great feeling. I'm no master mechanic but over the years I've learned patience and time is your friend. And pb blaster...

If it were me I'd start slow and plan for maybe a project or two per day. Start with the front, then the back, then armor. Even slow poking you should be able to knock it out. And you should also buy a good 1/2 drive torque wrench if you don't have one.

+1 on all of that for installs. Depending if you already have power tools, I've found 1/2" drive impact wrenches, air or battery, to be incredible time savers. Oh and loosen up your LCA bolts so your LCA can move freely for installing coilovers. It doesn't need to come all the way off, or even rotate the cams, just enough to give it some free movement. And you're going to need an alignment after anyways, so might as well remove all the tension you can from the system.

    Need a sleeping bag recommendation...

We were out camping south of Deckers off 360 and our el cheapo Coleman BS with a thick-ass Mexican blanket on top could not keep up with the wind chill. Shit was miserable.

Rei brand bags have kept me warm decades. Get a 0° down bag, if it's warm out you can just slip your feet into the foot pocket and use it like a blanket. Usually cheaper than all the other brands.

Wiggys tends to be pretty low cost

Kifaru and other hunting companies can be a bit lighter but about double the cost
