I thought everyone here would find this interesting.

Does anyone remember when the PRO grills where extremely popular and they were flying off the shelves like hot bread? This was about 8 years ago or so. In order to purchase an OEM PRO grill from toyota you had to prove you were a current owner of a PRO and provide them with your VIN to even be allowed to place an order. I had a TRD Off-road at the time and had to provide them with my buddies VIN to place an order.

Well I called Toyota today to get pricing on the 24’s Tundra TRD PRO’s front fox struts and rear shocks to get a better idea of what they are worth. The guy was super helpful and provided me with pricing but warned me that Toyota will not allow anyone that doesn’t currently own a PRO to place an order for the set. He told me I would have to prove I was a current owner by coming in person and providing them with my VIN.

Is this the new normal thing for Toyota to do to keep trim levels exclusive?

You can buy any Toyota parts you want. They like money.

If I am not mistaken, for the previous gen you can now buy a pro suspension. I guess they keep it like this for a certain time and then remove the restrictions. I looked into a pro suspension for my truck when I was shopping for f/r suspension. Way to much for what you get. I got Fox 2.5 PE w/DSC for less.

Yeah I figured, maybe the guy that helped me was “that” guy.

I wouldn't say he's that guy, maybe right now on the 3rd gen they have the same restrictions as the previous gen. Regardless, I don't see the point. A set of CO is nothing exclusive about a pro when there are better alternatives.

I have the Fox DSC set on my truck, I was just trying to get a better idea of what the OEM setup is worth to post it for sale.
