If you wrap the shaft below the bearing in ice for 20 minutes before hitting the race with heat it'll go even faster. This is a good idea

I recently replaced my lower control arms with new OEM ones. They came with new bushings already installed. By the time I bought 2 bushings per lower control arm, I don't think the price difference was very much, and it was worth it to not have to deal with pressing the bushings out.

I've had a few rotors get stuck on the hub like that. I normally put a scrap 2x4 on the rotor and whack the 2x4 with a 4lb hammer a few times.

Put some lug nuts back on a few threads then beat the fuck out of the rotor from behind.

I own this Ozone Generator. Here it is trying to help out my Tundra:
    PXL_20240211_010356871.1.jpg

It works great killing odors in the air and might help for some light surface odors, but it wont do a damn thing for odor causing things that first need to be cleaned. Those seat foams need to be cleaned to get the smell out. I would take the seats apart, submerge the foam in a tub of water/dawn working it into the foam and letting it sit overnight. Then rinse with fresh water until the water runs clear and let dry.

I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smell, yet I still purchased a Land Cruiser that was smoked in by the original owner for 17 years. The little ozone generator would make the interior smell great for a day or so, but once the interior got warm the smell would come back. I had to disassemble and scrub absolutely everything to get rid of that cig stench. I've had that Land Cruiser for 8 years now and on a really hot day, a faint smell of stale cigarettes still comes out of the dash pad.

The people borrowing mine are out of town until this weekend, but if you can wait until this weekend when they're back, PM me and I will have them put mine out on my porch for you to swing by and grab. Just bring it back when you're done. I went through the same deal as you with a 99 Ranger I got from my grandparents who smoked CIGARS and cigarettes in it non-stop. That bucket full of brown goop looks all too familiar--was almost enough to make me never want a cigarette again, and I only smoke very occasionally. Your job's actually easier than mine was since you don't have the rest of the interior to deal with (I removed and cleaned the dash and cleaned the heat/AC ducts), but a couple of sessions in a tight space (at least two since it's really the foam that's holding it at this point) and I promise that smell will be gone, especially after all the prep work you've done getting that shit out of the fabric.

I agree with this, if you can/want to do it--all that same spitoon juice that came out of the fabric is in the foams, too. My Ranger still had a faint smoke smell, but it didn't particularly bother me and again, since it's just the seat foams in yours and not the WHOLE interior like my Ranger and warrior's Cruiser, you might be able to get away with just the ozone generator.

Man I can't imagine what a beast that was taking that whole LC apart to get after it! I was about ready to light a match after just getting deep into my single-cab Ranger, haha.

That's what I'm worried about. And in the TX summers that cabin heat will just draw that smoke smell out again and pollute my entire truck. You should smell my garage even after the cleaning yesterday. I pulled my gli out of the garage just so it won't be at risk of potential contamination.

People smoking doesn't bother me. I just dont want that smell in my cars or house. That's it, you know this. Were free americans, do as y'all please just respect others boundaries as you do it. And I used to smoke, pack and a half a day, never in my cars tho.

Consider me a strawberry sucker because I was thinking this is a great reason to not smoke. Nasty ass habit.

Once I got the tie rods to let go, the rotors just took a few more love taps.

Just dropped the spindles off for gussets and new bearings/seals.

Also ordered a Napa CV because my passenger side boot is torn and slinging grease.

Now that I got it all apart and can put eye balls on everything, I call BS on NTB always trying to sell me an inner tie rod job. I don't see how one could even tell with the skid plates on and everything assembled. I don't know if I'll even bother replacing em until I buy some Solo UCAs. I'll probably go ahead and do the LBJs though.
