    Looks interesting

I am just happy that my remote start didn't expire at the 24 hour month mark like it was supposed to on my '21.
It was supposed to be 2 free years subscription to that service, I am at 2.5 years and counting.

Also said I got 3 free years of the Navigation system, we will see if that was also BS come this November.

Wondering if it was because I skipped the update to the emergency button system? Apparently they weren't set up properly and Toyota could not communicate with vehicle/driver when you press the red button.?!?

Does anyone know the functional difference (besides 1000ft of range) between their 1-way remotes and their 2-way? I’m assuming the 2-way remote has some sort of light to indicate if you had a successful start when it receives signal back from the truck? Would be worth it to me if so.

edit: answered in another thread. There is indeed a confirmation light on the 2-way.

Can't really tell. Just most of the time with remote start systems, the engine shuts off when you open the door.

Will you be able to lock your vehicle while started? That would be a huge benefit.

My Viper remote start in my2018 Platinum is at least 5 years old and still works right.

Uses the OEM key to operate. No additional fob. Range is same as the keyless entry, which isn’t fantastic. I can start from inside my house or office if I’m in the right spots.

Doors unlock for just a moment when it starts, then lock back up. It’s weird. They’re unlocked for about one second. You need to unlock with the remote before you can get in.

If you forget to get in your truck, or accidentally start it, it will shut off after 10 minutes. Doors stay locked. you can also cancel the running truck if you change your mind about driving by clicking Lock three times. Same as start procedure.

Truck will shut off if you hit the brake pedal before you insert the key and turn to On position. I believe this is like most others, other than a lot of Toyota cars.

My buddy has one on his 2017 that works at way longer distance than mine. Like hundreds of yards. It’s crazy. He does have a second fob on his key ring. I’ll ask him what it is and if the truck dies when opening the door.

I purchased my 2016 used, and the original selling dealer had added remote start and some other goodies at time of original purchase.

My remote start uses the toyota fob and does not turn the truck off when I open the door. 3 clicks of lock to remote start, Open door, insert the key and turn it to on and drive away. Only time it will cut off is if I hit the brake before inserting the key and turning key to on position. I dont know what remote start unit I have or where it is located to check the model.

That operates exactly like mine. I just had a stereo shop put it in, as cost was almost double at dealer for same shit.

My Compustar on my 2014 works like that although I had to replace the key fobs with the Compustar fobs.
Works for several hundred feet, as well as the Drone app that starts and monitors it from anywhere.
    Drone app requires a subscription.

If I had a push button start, I'd strongly consider the product in the OP.
It would drive me up the wall to have the vehicle shut off upon opening the door.

Drives me up a wall for sure. Idk if it drives me all the way up a ~$500 wall though… then again, I live in a fairly mild climate
