I have a 2023 tundra with factory/dealer dash cam. It connects for a short time then disconnects. Salesman believes that carplay and dashcam cannot run concurrently. This has to be wrong. Any thoughts?

Salesmen aren't always the smartest or most honest.. I had a TPMS sensor in my GMC that would frequently disconnect and the dealership, including service, insisted it was because of the WiFi on my aftermarket dashcam interfering with the radios from the TPMS sensors - but somehow only that front driver sensor. When I rotated the tires the problem followed the tire..

It didn't matter to them that the WiFi was only on when you explicitly turned it on for app access.. Also didn't matter to them that these radios operate at drastically different frequencies and if what they saying were true we'd all be able to pick up radio in our tires.. I replaced the TPMS sensor on that tire and it hasn't disconnected since. If only they would have listened.

I have no experience with this particular dashcam or Carplay, but I agree with you that this doesn't sound right.. If this is the case - what a terrible oversight by Toyota. I'd go directly to the Service Department rather than work through a salesperson..

If you test by disabling Carplay completely do you experience the same issue? What testing have you done on your own?

It is connected by Bluetooth not WiFi. I didn’t opt for the WiFi connection but I may try purchasing the plan and see if that makes a difference.

I’m sorry it is connected with WiFi. After thinking about the issue.
